fog light installation

trying to install my new fog lights, how many clips are there exactly holding the assembly. all i see are the two whites ones at the top after i took the bolt off the bottom. is that correct? i sure hope so cause i cant even get those two damn things loose. its hard for me to see since i have no ramps or heavy duty jacks. am i missing anything else? thanks.

i used this, but the sixth picture is the only one that confuses me. is this the clip to pull out the wire or is this a clip that holds the assembly in as well

Yes, there are two clips/snaps on top which hold the fogs in place. Push forward real hard from behind the fogs and they'll come out. I found it easier to spring back the white clips a bit to break the light loose.

No, don't worry, you're not going to break it. Actually, they are only "pins" that snap in the connector. You have to get the head of the pin (ball shaped) to clear the snap connector in order to come out.

Try prying them a little from the middle out with a flathead screwdriver until the center piece is loose from the clips.

Hey...I know I may sound crazy but I used a hammer to tap out the fog. Believe me it worked! Just use the weight of the hammer and tap the two prongs. DO NOT USE BRUTE FORCE! Also, don't tap it too hard or it's going to fly out. Enough to loosen it so that you can pull out the fog housing. You could also use a malet, but it might be difficult fitting it into the small compartment. If you want to take extra precaution, cover the hammer or prong with a cloth (small towel or old t-shirt) That will probably lessen the impact.

USE THE HAMMER OR MALET AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE IMPACT COULD DAMAGE THE HOUSING OR THE BULB!

There's more than one way to skin a cat!
