Are you happy with the choice of this one?

Personally it was way to loud for me with the budget b-pipe w/ resonator so I put the stock muff back on and had magnaflow tips welded on.

I have this on my 2K SE, and love it. There's a bit of a drone between 1800-2300 rpm, but I don't spent enough time in that range for it to be a problem for me.

Do you have any sound clips of your car with that muffler? I ordered it and its on back order!! So I still have another week or so to really decide if I want it or not. The reason I got it is it looks like the stock muffler. Thats one thing I wanted to do is to keep it looking stock. I just hate those bog oval mufflers, I think they look tacky. Not to cut or be rude to the people that have them but why get one if you can get a muffler that looks stock and does the same thing!!

I don't, unfortunately. Hell, I don't even have any decent pics of my car - been meaning to do that for ages.

There was a link on here to soundclips of the Powertech - check the search site. I'm sure they're still around.

Too much drone noise at highway speeds, but looks nice. I took it off after a week.

What do you mean to much drone at highway speeds. Does it sound like you have snow tires on? I can still cancel the order so thats why I want to hear from others who have it. Does anyone know how the Flowmaster or Magnaflow sound with the stock exhaust?

Sorry I don't have a sound byte but basically it sounded like a constant "brrrrr" at 70 mph. After a couple of 100 mile trips, I couldn't stand that sound. It did sound good taking off from a stop though.

Thats where I heard the clip and thought it sounded the best overall. Also are you still running the stock rims on your car and if so, how do your 235/45/17's feel? I was told not to go any bigger on the stock rims then 235/50/17's otherwise it would throw everything off and the computer for the ABS might cause the breaks to lock up. Oh one more thing, the lower inserts from grille tech, how hard or easy were they to install on your ride?

Yes these are still the stock rims. :-( I hope to go 18s soon. I have no problems with the 235/45s on the stock tire. The grip is much better than stock. The grille tech grill is very easy to install. Just take the pins off at the bottom and zip tie them down.

I have a budget b-pipe and it's got the magnaflow resonator and yes it does give my exhaust a little growl that is noticeable at idle. If you want a beafier looking exhaust get some bigger tips welded on. The PT1011 gave me a headache just driving down the road. I like to beable to hear my music without blasting it.

Have the Powertech 4 inch tips, me like. It sounds great when you get on it 4-5K RPM. Lots of looks. But on LONG trips it can be a little annoying, it definitely makes its presence known over stock. But WTF, thats what the sound systems for! Crank up the tunes and forgetaboutit

Guys, thanks for all the info. From what I've read so far, I think this choice in replacement muffler may be a bit annoying for my taste after a while, but it does look really sharp I must admit. Any other suggestions for a deeper sounding application that doesn't give you a headache after 30 minutes in the car?

Ok, My PowerTech is on a 2 week backorder so I have time to cancel this order. Can anyone on here give me any ideas on a good performance muffler that sounds deep , Not ricey like the Honda's and Mit's. I just want to change the muffler for now until I can save up the money to do a nice complete exhaust system from the headers all the way back. Any and all help is very appreciated!!!

There was a memeber that put a flowmaster on and I hear a sound clip and it sounded great. The stock muffler is free flowing enough if you ask me, unless you're boosted. Get a b-pipe w/ a resonator and it will increase the sound of your exhaust and give you more horsepower than a muffler.

The whole thing is right now I only have about $100 to play with, I already spent some money on a Weapon Intake, The clear corners, front strut bar and interior and exterior lights. Just wanted a little better muffler then the stock one that later down the road I would use with other exhaust mods.
