Engine Cover - Help

I was wondering if any one out there has had this problem,
I have a 2k2 Maxima and the emblem witch is attached to the cover over the engine (V6 – 3.5) you know the one, well it has bubbled up and separated it self from the cover. I called my local dealers parts department and they said that I would need to get the whole cover, as the emblem is not sold separately, the cost $150.00 WOW!!!

I was also told it could be covered under warranty but I have 38,000,
I was wondering if someone else might have had this happen as Nissan say they have not heard of this, OR does some one have an Emblem they might want to part with I would be willing to pay you for?

Thanks again for all your time on this subject,

Did you recently use engine cleaner on it? That would do it.

Take it off, it will give you ~3hp. I did this and so did Studman, every little hp counts.

--- UPDATE! ---

I went to a different dealer this morning and found out some history on my vehicle. It turns out the old battery had been Venting and spraying Battery acid over my engine bay, The dealer I purchased the car from knew about this and tried to patch it up but when it was inspected this morning they found that it caused the damage on the engine cover and hood lining they are going to replace all parts at no cost to me and look over the engine to make sure none of the hoses are corroded, if there are any parts needed they will cover them, they are also going to document this so if I have problems with this they can get it covered,

WOW,

that's what I thought... if all these "I did xx and got 3-5 hp" claims were true we'd be running 350hp at the wheels just by removing 10 pounds of plastic.

UPDATE,

Went to the dealer Noted above and the did as I was told replaced the hood lining, engine cover and checked and replaced all needed hoses and clamps for free, man was I shocked.

A)They did what they said they would.
B)I did not have to pay a dime.

Gotta like that,

There address is: Pacific Nissan in Seattle,
