First time at the track (14.7 auto) 2k2, WRX, GSX, 2 integras.

I finally took my max to the track last night. RT 41 in Kenosha Wisconsin. My first couple of runs were 14.9 againsty my buddy's WRX. The first time he ran a 15 flat and then 14.6.

My best run was against Eclipse GSX at 14.7 the eclipse ran a 15, he also had couple of 14.8's before that.

When I ran against a supercharged 96 integra I ran a 14.9 again and he ran a 14.8 wich did not impress me at all.

My second best run was against a older camaro with 355 under the hood, He only ran a 14.511 and I ran a 14.813. This was a really good race since he took off really quick. His 60' was 1.945 and mine 2.258 and then I just kept up with him all the way.

Acura CL-s kept running 15.4 all night
350Z kept running 14.2 and his best was a 14

Here is my best run
R/T 1.052
60' 2.219
1/8 9.508
1/4 14.776
MPH 92.91

I cant post the time slip right now since I am at work but there was another org member there at the track and he said that he kept on running 15.3 all night last week with his auto and he could not believe that I got my car into 14's

My first two when I ran 14.9 I had the PSI at 28, then i dropped it to 25 and I break torqued it at around 1700 let the foot off the break fast and give it a little gas minimal tire spin. Then I just flored it.

I alsot took off my stystem my spare and jack.

I've always read that's not necessary for street tires, but you've got better 60fts then I'll ever have(2.4x) so I'll shut it!

The first two runs I did not burn out and my PSI was at 28 and the best run I had was 25 psi and burn out so I guess it helped or maybe it was just a draw of luck, but My second best was done the smae way which was 14.81

My bet was the 25 vs. 28 psi.

However, whatever you're doing is working, so keep doing it!

I would like to see what your manual is running bone stock.
I bet its not much better than 14.7 ( and I mean consistently running)
cause my consistent runs were in the 14.8's and 9's

You guys are SOOOOOOoooo gullible!

BabyBlu,

Now you need to try the drop resistor mod to get 100% line pressure at WOT. Look in the 4th gen section for mtzg posts, IF you don't know what Jime and others are doing. I'll help you find which wires, if you need help.

I have thought about this but can the 02-03 guys reset there SES light after doing this. That was one of my plans as well as lighter wheels on the slicks, lighter wheels on the rear, gutting my interior, taking off my sway bars, and running one step warmer plugs at the track too get a little more timing. I know Im crazy but I want some 13.5's

Drive to your nearest Autozone? Or maybe hook up RPM window switch like JIME has, so it only occurs at WOT. I thought people only got the SES light if they left it disconnect or something. I don't know for sure.

Anyways, I found the description in the ESM and here is my post asking Ben what he thinks:

Explain? Looks like 2K+ have a line pressure solenoid valve with dropping resistor. I'm thinking 5th gens. can do the same.

ESM Descrip:
The line pressure solenoid valve regulates the oil pump discharge pressure to suit the driving condition in response to a signal sent from the TCM.

The line pressure duty cycle value is not consistent when the closed throttle position switch is ON. To confirm the line pressure duty cycle at low pressure, the accelerator(throttle) should be open until the closed position is OFF.

ESM:
Line pressure solenoid valve duty
Condition:
--Small throttle opening(Low line pressure)--->Large throttle opening(High line pressure)
Specification:
--Approximately 24%--->95%

Terminal:
1)Green/Red - Line pressure solenoid valve
--When releasing accelerator pedal after warming up engine: 1.5-3.0V
--When depressing accelerator pedal fully after warming up engine: 0V

2)White/Black - Line pressure solenoid valve(with dropping resistor)
--When releasing accelerator pedal after warming up engine: 4-14V
--When depressing accelerator pedal fully after warming up engine: 0V

Basically, the circuit has TWO paths from the TCM to the Line Pressure Solenoid Valve:
Path 1)TCM Terminal#2-->White/Black-->Drop Resistor-->Green/Red-->Solenoid-->Ground
Path 2)TCM Terminal#1-->Green/Red-->Solenoid-->Ground

If this doesn't make sense, I'll get you the ESM.

I think we may be able to coax some more ignition advance by 'tricking' a few sensor readings, HOWEVER you'll want to run some higher octane gas to MAKE SURE you're not detonating any and causing the ECU to retard timing.

Just incase you run out of things to *** with.

Lose some weight Seriously, I forsee a trend of male anorexia due to reducing overall vehicle & driver weight...

OK, maybe I'm not being serious...

Here is what I do every time I race. I put put the car in 1st gear and manually shift at 6100RPM's this way I give the computer enough time to shift at exactly the redline.

I break torque the car to around 1700RPMS and when the light turns green I let my foot off the break really fast and dont press the gas yet (the car will automatically jump forward since it is break torqued at 1700), then right away i press the gas pedal about half way and get some wheel spin but not that much then when I feel the car is gripping the road I floor it and manually shift it at 6100 RPMS. It took me few try's at stop lights around chicago area to finally get the launching right. Just play around with it

The tire pressure 25 PSI
I tried keeping it in 3rd and D and I was only getting 14.9
When manually shifting you can get your RPM's all the way to the red line which helps a little make sure that you dont shift too late or your car will idle and you will feel a jerk which is not good for your tranny, happened to me couple of times.

Boy do I know about short funds.
I'm still trying to get rid of the blurry vision from the IRS B!TCH SLAP last spring. Man that set me back. I think I'm gonna refi the house again if rates drop a little again. That and I've spent about a grand on my dog over the last two weeks, he's still not doing to well

actually the 04 maxima with the 5spd evan if u shift manualy the car will shift it self.. its either just d5.. or tiptronic it will hold the gear but if u dont shift the lever it will upshift for u when it hits redline which is about 6500..
