rsx type s vs. my 97 max
rsx type s vs. my 97 max
i have this guy who is talking alot of shiz about maximas. i told him we'll take it to the track in about a week or so. i got stillen intake, warpspeed ypipe, 2nd stage clutch (act) whole greddy cat back w/ ws tip exhaust. rsx type s has intake and im assuming whole cat back. and his car is not lowered yet. how well will i do against him?
Better driver will win. Both are 14-capable, although it'll take more driver skill to get the RSX-S running the same as your Max due to the powerband of the RSX. So I think you have an advantage, but he will be very strong in the last 1/8th mile, so your launch and first 1/8th mile will be critical.
rsx type s = pretty good match up
i saw a rsx type s run for the first time last night. the car looked smooth, it had intake and full exhaust !
the car was running anywhere from 15.1-15.6
i wanted a piece of the guy - would have took him down ! lol
o back to the rsx type s ...dont be snoozing or you may take a brusing

thanx guys. this guy was just talking so much like he was the king of the hill or something. i just met this guy once, very big headed. lol. anyways....i guess well see what happens at the track. going on the 28th. cant wait.
The only way to get a high-14 run on a stock RSX-S is to keep the revs above 6k on launch. Otherwise it will bog and you are in the 15's. You also have to manage the wheelspin just enough so that you launch reasonably well and don't do a burnout, and don't hookup too soon and yet again bog. It's very difficult. Ditto the above for pretty much any Honda with their high-end biased powerbands.
I haven't been to club-rsx.com in awhile, but the last time I checked most of the stock times were mid-15's with 2.4xx 60's. Only a few have been able to crack 14's stock with the high-end clutch dump/slip launches with 2.3xx or maybe a few high 2.2xx 60's.

anyway i say the max will more than tear a new one to the RSX.Rudy's motto: If it costs more than 20 bucks and doesn't make my car perform better.....it is a waste of money.
