Ceasar's Chariot Joins the 14 second club !

I went down to No Problem Raceway ! And the trip was worth it ! Beat my old record by 3 tenths of a second ! Got 4 runs in: 14.8, 14.8, 14.9, and 15.1

I still cannot get over how surprised people are that the Maxima can put up these numbers ?? Tonight a Acura NSX was running 13.4 -13.7's, The Lancer EVO guy I raced a month ago is now putting up 14.1's, a Dodge Neon SRT-4 was putting up 14.4 with NOS....?? I thought they were faster than that .. And a Acura RSX Type-S was putting up 15.1 - 15.6's .. thought they were faster ?

Im still sick about all the trouble Im having in getting the right ecu. Whenever I get that back with the JWT ECU its going to be sweet, as well as, cold weather will be hitting the scene too ..

Enjoy the videos. Im up against some Dodge Ram V8 I believe it was and a Nissan 240 SX. After the race with the Dodge the guy was freaking out asking me a bunch of questions !! He could not believe a Maxima was this fast with intake and exhaust !! he just kept shouting out You Waxed Me ! HA HA !! LOL .. and the 240 sx got a redlight but still put up a good fight !!

Videos on the webpage !!

Congrats bro...i knew it wouldn't take long at all for you

i think the rims/tires do make a good amount of difference

my first 14 second run was so messed up...it was the first run of the day...
during my run...i notice papers flying around in my car...cd player's on...the friggen windows are down...so im shifting and trying to put the windows off at the same time...LOL
still came out with a 14.9 tho

i think you're running the exact same as me now
i got a 14.811@93 and i think your time is just about the same...good job

Way to go. Is that a .004 RT you ran in the second video? Nice.

Congrats!! Bout time.
I bet the wheels gave you a tenth or two. Now all you have to do is wait 10 months for the JWT ECU.

Welcome to the 14s. Looks like the wheels helped things somewhat.

BUT dammit, don't leave us hanging. What were the conditions like, 60', 1/8 ET/MPH, shift points, launch rpms, etc? You need to let some of us gurus look over your slip because there might be some more ET/MPH to eek out.

You have an easy 14. 7 and maybe even a 14.6 if you could pull a 2.1x out or your a$$. I think your wheels helped a lot because even with your weak 60' your 330 was good. How much weight did you shave off with the SSR's? I know when I run with the 11.5lb 15's that my 1st and second gears are much quicker.

Note: Moderated timeslip queue apparently got broke during the VB upgrade. Not sure if any submissions are lost or are just stuck in limbo. I'll post an update and sticky it as soon as I hear back from kev on what the deal is. Sorry bout that.

Cold dry air and a lower 2.2 60' will get you a 14.6@95mph, at least. Was this a different track than last time because your 60' really hasn't improved.

same track as last time, the new wheel/tire combo cut off 9 pounds or 36 off all 4 wheels, or like you were saying mike 288 pounds off the chasis, and that theory just may be true since I knocked off .3 from my best time.

My best 60 was a 2.248 in the 240sx video, but the outcome was still a 14.8. im not sure what happened along the way ..to still get me a 14.8 - with more runs and more practice Im thinking the cars getting real close. and there is always the cold weather approaching !!

Im wondering if the dragways start getting even larger crowds in the colder weather. Maybe I have been running in the off season?

Yep, you're running in the off-season. When it gets cooler than 80 degrees, I'm lucky to get 3 passes in during a 4 hour test-n-tune session plus my track closes if it's colder than 45 degrees and not sunny. The coldest weather I've run is a mere 60 degrees. It sucks.

I wonder when I'll run a faster ET. I ran 14.59 on 23lb 17" rims and now I have 15lb 17" rims. I havent even ran a 14.7xx since I got my new rims. I hope nothings wrong with my car and its been just sh1tty conditions.

hey CAESAR...i was thinking that we should meet up at STEELE, AL one of these days....I am talking a couple months from now probably.

I think it might be a little over a 4 hr drive for ya, not sure. Mine is alittle over 3 hrs I think.

The track is open year round and its a sweet a$$ track. Its where 96sleeper ran 14.44 and I ran 15.0 stock as well as a bunch of 14.6s with only intake and y pipe. You get to run as many times as you want pretty much. Last time I got about 18 runs in...haha.

I think we should run.

Good competition will only bring out the best in ya.

According to mapquest thats about 361.73 miles from here. Not to bad. I have lived in atlanta GA off and on for a number of years as well as birmingham, AL ..never been to Steele, but I certainly wouldnt mind sneaking up there and stealing a few good times.

sounds good to me ! in a few months i will have more mods !!! im presently working on changing out the heavy seats for sparcos, and im getting ready to send that ecu to JWT.

well if thats the case...by then you might be too much competition for me. it would still be cool to meet up tho.

maybe you can bring your stock ECU and your JWT ecu and switch to stock for when you race me! haha. make the playing field more even...

BTW I sent you an email about possibly hosting a couple of videos for me.
15.0 runs but I still would like to see my car in action. Never seen it before....

95% sure i wont have $$$ for mods for a while.
only change since 14.59 is lighter wheels.

how can it be a drivers race if you have an ECU and I dont!?!?! haha...does that mean I am a good driver and you're not?

haha.
