Expensive Turbo???

Is it just me or the new turbo kit from Custom Maxima is a little expensive??? Are all the boltons like the Y, intercooler, blow off valve actually bring the price up to 4600 dollars??? Never mind you the installation fee if your not mechanically inclined to do it yourself. I was waiting for this kit to come out...but after seeing the price...I don't think I'll ever get it. Great horsepower gain though.

installation is the cost of the tool set from sears $100 plus drill and drill bits about another $60 and you can do this install yourself, you may need a open end wrench to get the O2 sensors $6, and a swivel set $10 your looking at about $200 or less in just tools. Turbo is a bolt on except for the fuel but thats not hard to figure out.

Wait until you add up all the other gizmos you'll NEED to up the boost.

Honestly, unless I have a MINIMUM of $6K saved up, I won't order.

The GRAND total will be even higher.

Just do what I do and save $10K...if you don't use it all, spend what you can and then get drunk with the rest...

granted, that might be a lot of getting drunk

Used Superchargers kits with extra goodies usually sell for $2200-2900 in the FS forums. More plug-n-play than the Turbo, simpler, and good for bOoSt NeWbz like me.

But then you run the risk of outgrowing the SC and getting a turbo anyways. It's happening to more and more people everyday

i don't think that's too bad of a price if their numbers are true and the kit keeps it somewhat reliable.

wow! I don't know guys...I just can't see myself spending all that money....I think I'll go with NOS..is cheaper...either way I'm more for show than go anyways. Yes NOS is more for go...but then again...in shows...people like to see a little go. So NOs is...in my opinion...cheaper. AQnd it looks pretty good. The bottle and the set up that is.

But there's nothing like the sound of a turbo spooling up, or that BOV whispering sweet nothings in your ear...
