Slower Max w/ larger rims??

I know a couple of the Org guys have told me that larger rims (18" & 19") make the Max slower. But how much slower are we talkin?? I would love to get some 18" Konigs, but I really dont want to lose any performace, since I have an auto.

I ran at the track with my stock 17's and with my 19's and I ran the same exact times, and even trapped higher with my 19's...Just my .02

Larger, heavier rims = more weight = more rotating weight = requires more of the engine's power to spin up, and more of the brakes force to decelerate

Yeah, that makes sense. I'm just not sure how much slower it'll be...

Well, you could always get volks w/ pilot sports. They will be a sh!tload lighter than stock.....but so will your wallet.

I have 18"s now... but they're also lighter than stock. If anything i would have thought they'd even things out, but the Max feels a lot peppier now than it ever did with my OEM 17's.

Weight and and rim diameter will affect your acceleration and (from what I hear) dyno #'s too...

If you get SO-3's on a 19 inch wheel, that is 26 lbs or less, I can guarantee you you will get a better time than a 17 inch heavy **** stock wheel. I just speak from the numbers I have gotten at the track. I ran my best time on 19's with quite a bit of heat in the air.

Any forged wheel is going to be lighter in weight than a cast wheel. The same two wheels (1 forged and 1 cast) having the same size, style and diameter, the forged can be as much as 20-25% lighter in weight than the cast. The only downfall of forged wheels is that they are a tad higher in price. You pay a bit more to get the added power to the tires, but isn't it worth it in the long run?
