Saturday=good weather=detail car=help me out

Hey fellas. I've got a sterling mist maxima, and I have yet to find a polish that gives my car a very deep yet wet shine...its always just been a wet shine that lasted a couple days and went away. I want something deeper. What do you recommend I get for this weekend. I drive on the highway allot so i guess you recommend claying the car as well?
Thanks for the input.

Same recommendations as we always give...3m or Meguiars DACP/SMR or s100 Paint cleaner for polish and s100/p21s or Blitz and/or Klasse for wax.

You definitely need to clay this car since you do a lot of highway driving. Head to your local Wal-Mart or AutoZone and pick up some Clay Magic. While you are at it, take Endus's advice and pick up some S100 Paint Cleanser and the wax from a Harley Store. If you are interested in a sealant to protect your handiwork, you can get Meguiar's #20 (Sold OTC).

But if you want to go higher end, then I would recommend Klasse or Zaino topped with S100.

Yup, although you might want a heavier polish depending on your situation.

I would also just go ahead and get the Klasse SG as well...

Polish -> Clay -> Cleanser -> AIO -> SG(x5) -> S100

That's what I'll be doing sooner than later.

Actually, it should be wash, clay, cleanser, AIO (or preferred polish), SG, S100 if the paint is in decent to excellent condition. The way that Endus is mentioning is for heavily oxidized paint.

Let me suggest a plan of attack for your situation:

a) Remove bugs and tar with a good bug and tar remover.
b) Wash the vehicle
c) Clay
d) If your paint is in good condition, you might want to go straight to a polish like AIO. Otherwise, you may have to use some extra steps like applying swirl remover. I would not use a cleaner unless the paint is horribly oxidized.
e) Klasse Sealant Glaze. Let cure for 24 hrs before applying next coat. I usually do 3-4 coats.
f) Top with Carnuba wax of choice. Either S100, #26, Pinnacle Souveran, or One Grand Blitz.

I just looked online and to get anything here by Saturday is going to be brutle approx 38 dollars to ship. I went to pep boys to get a jack and noticed they have a product called liquid glass its in a metal can its a polish and says to apply two coats. Its 18 bucks for a small amount...anyone heard of it and or used it, its in a brownish can with an older corvette on it.

Get the S100 cleanser and the wax for the time being. After a while, go for the Klasse. But make sure you get the clay.

Never clayed my car before...I didn't think it would make that much of a difference what order it w3as in.

EDIT: Actually never mind, I was wrong. Polish after clay is much smarter...although with the cleaner having some polish...it's probably not a big deal.

I think this is what my boy uses on his benz. I think it's kind of an old school thing, but it looks good when it's done. I don't know how long it lasts w/ constant exposure to the elements as he kept his car in a parking deck.
