Went to the track!!

I went to the 1/8 mile dragstrip here in Savannah for the first time. I did 13 passes, my best time was a 9.706 @ 76.29 mph. My 60ft time was 2.457 with a reaction time of 5.05. I beat a G35 coupe w/6spd, a pre-93 Mustang Gt and various other cars not worth mentioning. Anyway is that a good time or no? Seems kind of low to me.

it took you 5 seconds to react???

you should be able to run better than that if you can bring your 60' time down... when i went to the track my 1/8 mile was 9.61 @ 76.34 and i had just an intake... my 1/4 was 14.73 @ 97.3.... 60' was 2.33 but the track was a little slick so the tires werent getting full traction through 1st

Oops, I meant .505 reaction time. My best reaction time of the night was .474. and my best 60ft time was 2.428. I don't know what I can do to make it faster. I know I was hauling ****, because twice I chirped 3rd gear. Which I guess could be signs of a ****ty track. By the way what rpm's should I be shifting at.

how are you launching? when i went to the track i was bringing the rpm's up to about 2k and trying to slip the clutch out, but its tough launching a manual FWD car with that much power... when i race now i jump from an idle, and im pretty good at taking off that way, so im going to do that the next time i go to the track....

i was chirping 3rd a few times when i went too, it sucked the track was slick, the guys who came with me werent running what they should have been running either... when i get the time to put my y pipe in im gonna hit up the track again, hopefully within the next 2 weeks...

i would shift right under redline since we have the variable intake.... i shift anywhere between 6k and 6500
