Check engine light: EGR issue
Check engine light: EGR issue
My check engine light came on today. Diagnostic codes read
0302, which is for the EGR system. Perhaps the valve or selenoid.
The problem is that I don't have alot of time right now to deal with this problem immediately, so I need to know how serious is this. Should the car be driven for long periods of time? Also is this a problem that can be fixed without going to a dealer or a mechanic?

I've have the same problem and I have done some asking and reading. The EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) system's purpose is to reduce emissions. I got an appointment at the dealer to see how much I'm going to get raped for. It should'nt hurt anything but trying to pass emission testing I'm not sure though.
