VIDEOS @ the Dragway 97 Maxima SE ! 9.20.03

Track: Tuscola Motorsports: Lena, MS
Temp: 74 Degrees

Some of the track KINGS around here at maxima.org predicted that in the cooler weather my car would do better, and getting that 60 ft time down was important. Both actually happened for me last night. It was in the mid 70's, I had a 2.22 60 ft in the first video that got me my fastest time so for. I even felt the difference the car just hooked up and took me flying down the track with it.

As for as the camera being in the car. I believe anyone could do this. I put it under the passengers side headrest and pushed it down snug. I went solo on this trip so I had to wing it. ( IN CAR CAM )

Moved to homepage !

Please post thoughts and comments .. !!

The only thing different was I had the 1996 ecu hooked up ( NOT UPGRADED ) and I took out the back seat and it was cool in the mid 70's. Up until this point I have only ran in the heat. BRING ON THE COLD !

Timeslip

Times of the Night

1. 15.35 @ 93.90 - 60' 2.58
2. 14.89 @ 93.57 - 60' 2.36
3. 14.71 @ 94.38 - 60' 2.27

4. 14.63 @ 94.28 - 60' 2.22 Best 1/4 Mile time !

5. 14.78 @ 93.89 - 60' 2.33
6. 14.86 @ 94.56 - 60' 2.47
7. 15.15 @ 92.36 - 60' 2.37 Missed 3rd Gear !

Man, you really hook up well. I get just a little squeal and you're gone. You'll only get quicker. I predict 14.3s with just the JWT ECU and a 2.2 60'

Nice times for your mods. Your times are pretty consistant as well. I wonder if the lightwieght rims helped you at all?

I am pretty sure he has a Warpspeed Y-pipe, Custommaxima test pipe, Warpspeed B-pipe, and a Magnaflow muffler...

midnight:
on the truck ..not sure ..i dont know my trucks like i should. just a Ford Truck was boxy and long.

on the awesome camera work, i was surprised just how well the camera worked. i should be more careful on the in car cams i got three to work and three that didnt. the zoom got jammed and zoomed in to far. It would have been fun to see how bad those bikes were slamming me.

nismo 14: well i was surprised as well. im still trying to figure all this out. at no problem raceway by the time decided to shift came up I was almost through the 1/4 mile . at this track for whatever reason .. i was finding that I really needed to shift or i would be winding/redling the car CRAZY BAD .. Again I have no explanation for what the difference was. Maybe it was the better 60' time ?? I just wrote it off as each track is different. Another thing though like Dave B mentioned. Shift points. Maybe I got lucky and shifted correctly which put me in a different situation towards the end.

Im going to try it at No Problem when I return.

Dave: that list is right. I have the warpspeed stuff, CM test pipe, mag muffler, o and the frankencar midpipe and jwt popcharger.

this week im swaping that setup for the injen intake and filter that comes with it, and the only other difference will be the Cattman Titanium FSTB.

Im really going for maximum weight loss ..ha ha !! just kidding thought it looked great !

maybe it's just me but in the 1st video(14.6), you're 1-2 shift, which was really quick, sounded like the clutch didn't catch right away and there was a delay. or was that just the tires chirping??

Nice job tho, 14.6 is mad good with just i/y/e. With a better 60' (2.1) you could probably see 14.4s. I can't wait to go back to e-town when it's cooler. I ran that 15flat (in my sig) missing 4rth in 90degrees.

max95 i think she was wanting to spin them. i usally chirp second but it sounded like i just hooked up and took off ..i will say this .. there was a very small crowd .. and you could run whenever you wanted to , no line at all.. the big cars with the huge fat tires was out on the track running and i got this wild idea of flying out there and running right after the last car, thinking the track would be all warm and stick ..

hey maybe it worked..im not sure but i didnt get much spin at the launch or in second..

well this was my 4th time at a dragway. and 1st time at this one. I wasnt really prepared for the fast tree, as soon as you hit stage 2 the lights kicked in and so thats why i was cautious driving up to stage 2, i was preparing in advance. You could say it was luck of the draw.

There was no way around the water so I drove thru it and spun the tires until they squealed and then let off. In all honesty im just not seasoned enough to really know how im launching. With that tree i didnt have time to set up and look at rpms and then get ready..

D@mn dude, those are impressive times with the mods you have. I'm impressed how fast you've gotten the Chariot to go in the past year or so. Just goes to show that with a little practice, times can be reduced greatly. Not to mention all mods helped to tho. Congrats buddy! Wish our track in the area wasn't closed for the year

Nice times. I look forward to racing you at No Problem soon... Assuming I can ever find the right ECU diagram for my car, which doesn't look likely... I've used several of them, and I still have a couple wires that don't match up. I need my SAFC2 & RSM And I also need my 9-10psi back, I'm only getting 6 now for some unknown reason (probably a boost leak)... but I shall still race ya, hopefully I can win...

Frosty ---Cumalot : where are you guys ? I know different people show up when they can, but I have never seen a Maxima even close to any of these tracks, and for that matter, no 300zx, no 350Z .. NO NISSANS !

Im sure sooner or later we will all show up at No Problem on the same night and start dishing out some spankings on some of the other imports in our class ..

Frosty: what do you have under your hood somekind of nuclear reactor ?

Cumalot: you must be hiding something, your car has been hidden away for almost 2 weeks ???

actually i take that back 2 infiniti g35 coupes at NO Problem and 1 nissan 240 sx .

Ceasars: hehe...I'm not hiding anything. I was just kidding. You already know about my "secret weapon". It's my new paint job! That should give me an additional 50hp.

I will definitely take my car to the track once I get my car back. Although it's definitely much slower than both you and Frosty. At best, my car is probably a low 15s sec car. Oh well, at least I know it will look good.

His windshield is dirty because he had to drive through south Mississippi and south Louisiana to get to that track, therefore there are LOTS of bugs out in the swampy area around here.
