Shudder caused by CV Shaft??

My car has been shuddering for some time now, and it really starting to **** me off...

the nissan dealership said that my CV shafts are aftermarket and there is some play in them which is probably causing the shuddering.. its sometimes really bad and other times it pretty good, so would it make sense that the CV shaft is causing this if the shuddering differs from time to time.... ???

has anyone had this problem or has a better idea what this could be?? (tires are fine, alignment is fine, and I have new control arms).... Thanks!

Yep. I had the same problem that disappeared when I replaced the shafts.

Mine would shudder at highway speeds, about 75-80 mph. That was back when my car was an automatic, but it doesn't really matter what type of transmission you have.

A good place to get aftermarket axles from is raxles.com They charge about $320 for the pair, about twice as much as rebuilt ones from Autozone or Pepboys, but they have new CV joints, not rebuilt ones.

All Speeds

My car shudders at all speeds except maybe in 1st... it becomes worse as I accelerate harder, but when crusing at a contant speed the shuddering isn't nearly as bad as when im accelerating. .

Hello there

It looks like I have similar problem. I hear light vibrating noise and it changes with speed. Dealer told me that this is problem with brakes and disk has to be mashined, but it feels without brakes applied also. what do you think?
Thanks
