Nissan paint job is better than maaco. Their paint will start to peel off less than a year.

I dont think they really do too good of a job masking and whatnot, they paint things that arent supposed to be painted and whatnot, plus they use crappy paint too...

I have did alot of pricing in my area for paint jobs... Maaco was about 900 dollars for the whole car, NO Warranty!. Couple other places was about 3000-4000 (Reputable places), LIFETIME Warranty. Just regular paint too, nothing exotic. Of course that would be more money. If I was going to get my car repainted, (one day ) then I would get a paint job with a warranty of LIFETIME. I mean think about how much your paint goes through... Sun, Rocks, Rain... blah blah blah. If I had a motorscooter, maybe I would go to Maaco...

Friend of mine got a 1700 bone Maaco paintjob, looks good except there are a few places that aren't perfect. He got some sort of warranty, 5 years I think. They will do a great paint job, but not for anything less than 2 large, most paint places start at 3 just for the basics.

Most of the cost of painting a car is in the prep work. Maaco does as little as possible of this and that's why their work looks so shoddy (which it is). They also don't match paint well, they don't add flexing agents (or they don't add the correct amount of flexing agents) and they don't seem to care about the final product-judging by the results I've seen. I would never take a car to Maaco.

Paint paint paint...well all I have to say is that if I have enough chips and missing paint on my car after 5 years, i'm going to start duct taping the areas. Duct tape fixes everything. MUHAHAHAHAHA

i hear that if you can prep your own car, i mean sand and primer and masking off all parts... the paint is decent, like the others said, where the paint job looks shoddy is in their prep work....

Of course, if anything goes wrong with the paint they'll blame you for the prep work.

I wouldn't do it. Probably be better of buying a compressor and doing it yourself if you're going to go through all the trouble of doing all the prep work.

Exactly, they don't even take the time to take off trim pieces....they just tape over everything, which is really shoddy. If you want something good, you're gonna have to pay for it....or find a local shop that will let you do all the prep and finish it off.

I once got my beater toyota pickup truck repainted by Maaco for $260 and it was the whole truck including several dent repairs and a home prepped new driver side B pillar (parents were broad sided by some drunk b@stard who fled the scene)... paint came out better and lasted much longer than a previous outfit which warranteed it for 3 years but faded after one ( paid like $550 for such plus had to go get new plates cause shop personnel lost the plates)... Maaco's warranty was only 6 months yet still shines today after some waxing...This was 4 years ago....

The bad part was they did get paint in certain areas that should have not been painted... you win some, you lose some... same with nissan dealers...

There's no way I'd hand $2k to Maaco for anything. I'd have a hard time giving them $500

their different price packages are B.S.! they paint all their cars the same- unless u know someone that works for them-diff story- then they'll hook u up w/ the best primer

Anyway their cheap paintjobs are good only if you plan on sellin' right away

Maaco doesn't seem very good with their quailty just from the look of their cheesy TV Ad. That's why I religiously wash and wax my car at least twice every season. To keep that lustrous paint shining like a mirror reflection.

true story...my aunty had her car painted at our local Maaco, but they forgot to color key the mirrors. When she took it back, they used a spray can to paint the mirrors!!

I got my aftermarket bumper painted for my other car. I paid $800 for perfect job. Maaco quoted me $100. You get what you paid for.

Maaco and Earl Scheib do horrible work IMO, the paint is low quality and starts to chip off all over the place within a few months, neither would get my business from what I've seen. The only thing I would have painted their is if I had a hoopty that needed a paint job.
