Insurance and boosting

I was wondering if any of you guys notified your insurance company about you putting FI into your cars. I know that they would raise your costs, but would it be good considering you wouldn't be losing $3K+ if your car got wrecked/stolen. Thanks.

I'm not an insurance agent but I don't know that you really need to report it. The reason that I say this is that when I wrecked my eclipse I had some aftermarket parts like exhaust and light weight wheels that were damaged in the accident and needed to be replaced.

I had the same concerns, in that since I didn't report these parts that they would be replaced with OEM ones. However insurance covered all the aftermarket parts and all was restored to just like new.

Good question though, you should ask Danny (PCGuru), he had a ton of aftermarket parts on his car when it was wrecked.

Dont quote me on that, but when I got my system put in, i called them ask if I had to let them know about it for theft reasons, and they said as long as i had my receipts I was ok.
