Paint looks dull after repainting

hi guys i drive a 03 man and i recently got into a minor fendor bender and had to repaint two of my left doors. but after the repaint my paint came out dull.not shinny.can you guys help me out wut the problem is and wut i can do to make my paint shinny again?

try a polisher and a nice wax? did you say anything to the body shop about it? ask them what they think before you do anything. that's what i'd do atleast...goodluck

I'd take it up with the body shop. They should make it shiny unless poor paint job. Also, body shop told me to wait about 60 - 90 days before waxing to let paint cure.

From the looks of things, the shop is liable for the issue. The reason your paint may not be shiny after it comes from the shop can come down to how it was applied (e.g. does the paint have a severe orange peel?) or within the process (was not wetsanded).

You might want to take this up with them and point out the issue. In the meantime, could you post a pic of what the problem is?

sounds like theres no clear coat

If the painter won't fix it-
it needs to be buffed by atleast a 2000 rpm buffer at a shop.
doing it takes practice, so i would not reccomend trying it yourself. you can burn paint, remove paint, burn corners and shine the plastic to where you can notice the diffrence.

No express detail place, take it somewhere you have to leave it for a while, they take their time blending it with the rest of the car.

Atleast thats what we do at my shop.
