Calculate how much HP you must have by knowing you 1/4 time?

Is there any way you can calculate how much hp you must have to run a xx.xxx 1/4-time?

I have a 97'Maxima MT.
Two weeks a go a ran a 14.907 @ 148 km/h (90mph?)

60': 2.214s
660': 9.582s @ 119.80 km/h
1/4: 14.907 @ 148.45 km/h

Without back-seat and with total empty trunk.

(pleace forgive me if my english is too bad...)

Your trap-speed (not ET: Elapsed Time) is more resresentative of how much power you're making since the ET is most directly dependent on your launch. Now a 14.9 @ 90 would be an EXCELLENT time for a stock 97! Did you have any performance modifications? Definitely scan and post up the timeslip if you can.

Oh wait....you're from Norway! Are you sure this wasn't 400 meters?

US 1/4 mile = 1320 feet
Metric 400m = 1312 feet

I know it seems small, but it can make maybe a tenth difference. I just want to be sure that we're comparing apples to apples. Anyhow, your trap speed is about in line with a stock Maxima (190hp in the US for a 1997 model).

It's not all stock...

-HKS-airfilter, with cold air-hose, and self-made intake-pipe,
-self-made rear muffler.
-Stock MEVI (6500rpm limiter )
(+ some other mods who are not important to the 1/4-time...)
Se my homepage at Cardomain

It was a 1320-feet 1/4-mile.

See also the other times I got at my homepage in homepage in Norwegian

do a search on google to find a 1/4 mile vs. hp converter. There are several out there. I did mine and calculated 262 hp to the crank, based on my times and approximated weight

Thanks!
(I thought there was a own calculator for the Maxima...)

I did mine and calculated 191 hp to the crank...
(not exactly what I thought/hoped I had...I've probably got some things too learn about dragracing...? )

EDIT: I was wrong! 191 hp at the wheels and 248 hp at the crank
