Is a new clutch better for the car?
My clutch is slipping and a new ACT will be put in in a couple of days, my question is, will it make my car slower due to the weight of the new clutch or does it not matter. I had thought that it would make it faster if nothing but someone had told me the add weight will slow it down in the 1/4 mile. Please shed some light on the truth for me.Thanks

I have the ACT. No difference in acceleration. If the ACT clutch weighed 5 lbs more than stock, then yeah, you'd feel some difference, but it's apparently not heavy enough to make any difference.
You'd have to have quite a bit of power to slip the old clutch enough that it decreased acceleration. Judging by your accel stats, a new clutch won't make any difference. I don't know how you've come to the conclusion that your clutch is slipping...but if it truly is, then yes, you'll improve acceleration because the ACT won't slip (assuming it's installed right).
The ACT is a great clutch, though. It grips better (no shudder, nice definte engagement), and is actually quite a biy smoother than stock in engagement. It won't make your car any faster, though.
