I'm all DONE...2 conversions, 1 swap!

Well, my project of fully converting my 95 gxe to a 97 is done. I did the full cosmetic conversion as well as the automatic to manual tranny conversion (thanx Hal) and swapped in the 97 engine into the 95.

It took a total of 2 months of working on weekends...sometimes all nighters involved.

I know the first question is going to refer to pics...well enjoy..

more here: my site

The only noticeable difference between this converted car and my oem manual transmission car is that I can now start the car without depressing the clutch. I just have to be careful. I only have to finish sorting out the CEL codes...no biggie as I have a good idea of what they are related to (1 o2 sensor and also EVAC canister codes). I had to remove the stock evac unit in the 95 as it was in the way of the clutch lines and put in the 97 one...behind the rear wheel (need to finish).

The car runs beautifully...I just changed the plugs...for some odd reason the car had AUTOLITES in there (eeewww) and Pepbizzles didn't have the NGK plats...so I put in Bosch Plats...the car runs great...

questions and comments welcome.

It's going to get played if everyone gets a blue paint job.

I say go with BMW steel gray

BTW, it's a great feeling to know that there is someone else out there that has an uglier car than mine.

I would paint my car either of these colors:

Daytona Blue (350z Blue)
Crimson Blaze Red (OE SE-Limited color)
dark silverstone (darker than Silverstone Z)
Carbon black with blue pearl

I'm thinking about the black with blue pearl...or BMW silver..but that whole blue thing is Played out Ange

I did all this work because I was in an accident...and needed a new car. Had too much money invested (emotionally) into the max to just let it go.

That looks hot man! Go with the BMW 5series Satin Silver. That would look HOT.

Starting the car with no clutch is nice isnt it ;-) No worries for remote start hookup :-D

Why dont you just wired the switch on the bottom of the clutch pedal to use that to start your car???

You did an awesome job with this car. And I agree with Max4Speed...BMW 5series Satin Silver would look hype on it. Do not go OEM or any shade blue of blue.
