I know it's a long shot, but it would be for a good cause.

Yes...but they all want too much.
A few people here have done auto-5spd conversions and have a spare auto ECU UNLESS they're like Kev and don't mind the CEL staring at them.

I'm on car-parts.com about everyday looking for this or that.
I've actually already scoped that ECU as MY spare, but would like to get some processor pictures for Danny before I splurge on an expensive paper weight.

Thanks...but actually I've already got one "in the works".
I'm just hoping to have a back up incase that falls through or I can get the ball rolling faster.
But thanks anyways.

It's updated, but I doubt too often.
Just make sure you contact them first to confirm.

Keep in mind that the 1999+ have transponder chips in the Ignition keys. The new computer will not work with your current car UNLESS the computer is reprogramed to accept the new keys and IMMU.
Best I can tell you would need to swap the ECU, KEY and IMMU (box mounted on the ignition switch) to get the thing to work without reprograming. I may find out if this is true before long.

Not a problem.
Two solutions:
1)Send my ECU and the spare ECU to TS and they'll duplicate it and send me mine back.
2)Get a key with the spare ECU. Buy a blank key off eBay, have it cut at any key maker, swap the chip, and then have the dealer add the key ID# to my cars' IMMU(ignition switch) and ECU. Then I can swap in the spare ECU and use the eBay key, since the IMMU has both IDs.
BTW, there is a 3rd and FREE solution, but that requires a tow truck ride to the dealer and playing dumb. Yes, you can swap all THREE and be fine, but that will run you pretty much the same cost and you'll have to swap all three every time you want to go back to stock. I'd rather have my IMMU programmed for both keys, so I only have to swap ECUs and use the correct key.

you'll get a SES because you no longer have the auto tranny... the TCM sends information to the ECU through the AT communication line...

black electrical tape over the SES light
the codes won't do anything...
It's only a $150ish for a MT ECU. I'm ordering one right now.
I'm betting you can figure out from the ECU what kind of signal the TCM sends the ECU and tap something similar from one of the other pins. Can't be that different.

Yea but when I get a real code I will never know. Id have to keep plugging in my OBDII every so often to make sure its still working.
Damn this changes a rack of things.. going to see if I can get a manual tranny ecu now.

You might want to WAIT and talk to me first.
There are QUITE a few variations and you need to confirm what you are buying or you will get SCREWED.
