Help an Idiot (me) - 2K2 Clear Lens Install

All right...I deinstalled without hacking the paint (used a rag), after screwing around with the connector assy I attached the new clear-lens now...how the h*** do I snap the (front) clear lens in correctly without either breaking it or...throwing it thru the friggin' windshield? Did a search before I tried and after (404 - page not found the 2 links I turned-up). Do I slip the front or rear in first then apply pressure or...? Any other tips?

Help an idiot complete this simple task please. Thanks in advance.

Son, if you are talking about the bumper lens, put it in the same way you pulled it out. It will be a little tight and thats good, just apply pressure at the point of where the clip is, but make sure the back is in properly. Thats all.

No problem man. This is what we are here for. Mine was kind of tight too and I thought I was gonna break it, but all worked out for the better.

If you don't want to destroy your paint when taking them out, remove them from the side closest to the middle of the car.

Yup...I remember you telling me this last week Steve, used the rag as you mentioned as well. It's done. The front, driver-side (where I started of course) was difficult, the other 3 went on smoothly.

Actually, this is one case where the owner's manual tells you exactly how to remove and reinstall the bumper lenses. Check it out...it's there...

yeah, I got some the other day. If you use a butter knife, you can get in behind the side closest to the middle of the car and pop it loose. When you put it back on, just put that side back in first, and then press the other side in until it clicks.

Whatever you use, cover it with a towel or cloth so you don't scratch the paint or the lens...
