Just put on the Frankencar.. the joys, the madness..

Wow. After just 2 hours and 10 minutes, I finally got the damn thing on. Jesus, how do you people do it in an hour? I messed up twice, having to retrace steps, but good lord.. the damn silicone adapters are impossible to put on, the instructions were assed out until I realized that I didn't neet any extra nutsto attach the o-ring to the MAF adapter, the screws for the original intake seemed to have been welded on, etc. etc.

But DAMN, do I abolutely LOVE the sound. After about 4k RPM, the car sounds ridiculously mean. I took it for a joy ride and I had a ton of head turns. Only downfall is the gas wasting, but whatever. All in all, it is a VERY satisfying feeling, knowing that I did it all myself with no real prior knowledge or experience with anything mechanical. I'm gonna lay down now..

As everybody can see it's really easy to install!!

It took me about 2 hours too to install my injen wednesday!!Much time were spend to place correctly the silicone adapter and align the white on black Injen signs. The bad thing it that it leave a big empty hole behind the batterie!

The sound is Sssweatttttt!!! Form 3K al the way up!!

Yeah, I put mine in myself and I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself. I've never really been an "under the hood" type of guy. I've been more of a "in the hood" type of guy. Here's a couple of pics.

Got my pics up from my install from yesterday!!! It sounds freakin' awesome. I couldn't stop cruisin' around last night after I got it installed.

That bracket that secures the intake is pain in the ***. I finally had to re-bend it and buy some bolts and nuts from Orchard to get it secured real good.
After all my b!tching I'm finally happy...

There didn't seem like a need for it. I know the 2k's and 2k1's have a sensor attached to that but I guess mine didn't. Is there a reason why I should leave it on?

No, according to Steve, there is no performance difference whether you leave the scoop on or off. I'm trying to decide if I want to take it off or not, so I wanted to get your opinion. thanks.

Some of the veterans here would perfer "newbies" to spend their entire time using the search engine isntead of actually interacting with the forums.

As for wether to scoop or not - someone on here recently posted that he hooked up a temp gauge under the hood and ran with and without the scoop and found there was a noticeble temp drop with the scoop on. I can't remember who that was... but if you want to know you can always use search.

Yeah, have your try to get someone inside your car and play with the shift(put it into gear),and you'll see that everytime you put in gear the motor will shock. And sooner or later the bracket it will come loose or break.

Mine cam loose several times. Then broke. I finally fixed it by installing an Injen.
