Which catback exaust?

I want to get a catback exaust but im not sure which one to get. I want a catback exaust that I dont have to modify to make it fit. One that will give me that deep throughty sound without the bees in a can noise. Post some pics of your exaust so I can make up my mind which one to get. Thanks in advance

Make your decision from this website:

Maxima Performance

The MR exhaust supposedly leans more towards the ricey side of sound, while the OBX is much deeper, and the OBX is quieter after a few weeks of breaking in. OBX>MR IMO.

Does anyone know what kind of exhaust this is? I know it says HKS but im not sure if it really is. Looks like a Pacesetter to me. Also, I thought it was a different setup for 95-96 and 97-99's???

Mmmaxx has a GReddy SP and compaired to my rusty stock exhaust, its much quieter. IMO the GReddy is very quiet and the intake is much louder. I know people say GReddys drone or are loud but it is surprisingly quiet.

Apex, OBX, and GReddy all seem like a good choice to me.

Not necessarily loud, but "louder than stock". The Apexi is the most quiet but still growls.

OBX catback.. i wouldn't say that this exhaust is quiet.. you can really hear it from 2000 to 3000 rpms when you step on the gas. of course its not as loud as some of the honda exhausts you'll hear, but its definetely louder than stock.. I don't have a Y pipe yet btw.

Man, that junk looks like pacesetter, I wouldn't trust it to be HKS. The Greddy SP is different for 95-96 and 97-99, maybe thats what your thinking of.

Well, I got the Greddy Sp that is on Southwestautoworks, the piping is powdercoated with grey, and the muffler is SS. I think the new Greddy cat-back is the SP2, but im not for sure. I'm not positive on when it is coming out either.

Ok I think ive decided on what catback exaust I want to go with. The Obx since it is all ss, has a nice deep sound and is not too pricey. I also heard that the b-pipe hangs down low and sometimes the exaust doesnt fit perfectly in the cut out hole is that all true? If I do get one like that will it be hard for me to fix it?

my b-pipe does hang low, but I've never scraped it as far as i know.. you can get a muffler shop to heat up the pipe and bend it upward (ask Meccanoble about that).

as for the tip of the exhaust, yes, mine didnt line up perfectly, it was a little to the side, and a little too low. you can get those metal hose clamps and put them around the rubber hangers, which will allow you to move the muffler a little bit. i got mine almost perfectly centered, but not quite. arrafio has an OBX and I think his is pretty much perfectly centered.

I can't stress to you enough to get the Greddy. It sounds great. It gives you exactly what you were describing what you want your exhaust system to sound like. It gives it a deep throaty sound without sounding obnoxious. I know people that have set car alarms off numerous times just from idle. I have done so myself, its that deep and nicely tuned. It also has a SS muffler. If you can wait awhile to get it I would hold out for the new SP2 that is coming out soon and see what that sounds and looks like. Either way go Greddy man.

definately steer clear of the pacesetter, or any clones.. they use a 'rust resistant paint' to cover up the cheap metal they use to make the exhaust.

I noticed on that helpful Exhaust website that a lot of the cat-backs, including OBX (which I wanna get) is 2.25". Isn't that what our stock is? Is it worth dishing out $300-400 for a 2.25" catback?
