Group Deal on "Falken Ziex ze 512" tires?

I am trying to replace my impotenza tires and after little research, I found Falken Ziex ZE 512 to be one of the best for its price. These fall under "All Season, High Performance" category.

I am sure a lot of you are looking to replace your stock potenza tires especially for the upcoming snow season. If we have enough people, we can probably work with a supplier and possibly get a good group discount.

Just vote if you are seriously interested. Based on the number of votes we can hopefully work with someone. We would need to figure that out too.

Some Resources:
1) Prices at DiscountTireDirect.com
2) Prices at 1010tires.com
3) Customer Reviews at 1010tires.com. Most of them gave a 0 for snow traction because they haven't encountered snow since their purchased... scroll down to the last few reviews, you'll see more comments about snow handling...

do me a favor and actually post in this thread if you are seriously intersted. I will make a list...

I hope they're offering more than what is shown on the Discount Tire website, cuz they only show 14-16 inch sizes. Comparably, for you guys that have purchased them, what did you pay for them? I'm sorta-kinda interested in them and price is one of my determining factors.

You should get these tires. I've been pretty happy with them except for the fact that they're kinda noisey. But that doesn't bother me much since I have the stereo cranked up most of the time.

SgtSchulze, whassup? Hear of anymore NE Ohio meets coming up?

School is getting to be interesting, especially my Machine Design class. But it's pretty tough at the same time. Well hopefully in a year and half, I'll be outta there!

Me and Coolmax talked about having a meet at Dave & Buster's in Westlake, since we both live there. Who knows?

BTW, you need to get an intake. I think a Frankencar would fit you nicely. ;-)

I would love an intake. I fear the almighty warranty police!!!

Right now I just want to get my springs installed and put some 18's on this spring!! Machine Design?? Sounds bad a$$. I used to run a machine shop making hydraulic manifolds for ODOT Snow Trucks. Big blocks of aluminum drilled with a thousand holes, cavaties etc... Good Luck!

UNCDooD, we don't have any prices yet... I am basically encouraging members to participate in what could be a group deal. I think we can safely assume that we will have 25 people in total that would be willing to purchase these tires. Now, we have to start looking on the internet and find the lowest prices and then call the supplier and negotiate a discount on top of the lowest price (considering that we would have 25 orders). What do you guys think? Any Suggestions? Any other ideas? Meanwhile, I will start with my local tire places and collect some info.

How do you think they will handle in snow.

Discount Tire is $108 a piece for 225/50 17.
They are backorderd for 2-3 weeks.
free shipping.
I have 'em holding 4 for me.

I think with the CR ranking, the rush is on, and 3 weeks
isn't bad.

Have any of you considered the Continental ContiExtremeContacts in 235/45/17? I only hear of good things about them. They are 111 at Tirerack.com. I just emailed them to see if they get can a group deal going.

I called a few places around for Falken Ziex tires, they either are out of stock or are selling for list price... We gotta keep looking though, we have about a month left before it really starts snowing so hopefully the craze for these tires will be over and we can get a decent deal...

Guys, keep looking and post in this thread if you find a dealer... I too am working on this.

After looking around, I found a website with decent prices... link

Taking 235/45/17 as average, I found customwheelsmarket.com selling it at $112/tire. Shipping is FREE. I think that's a pretty good price as you will get all 4 of these at this size for about $450 shipped. I will try to call them in a couple of days and see if they can give some more discount if we do a group buy with them.

I found Dunlop SP Sport 5000 to be a pretty good alternative but it will be about $100 more for a set...

What's up guys... I called discounttiredirect.com and tried to negotiate. They said they can do group discount provided all tires be of same configuration. He said he can give us 8-10% discount which I think is pretty decent for these tires. Let me know what you guys think. I tried.
