vq 3.5 headers by hotshot...made for altima

Was over at nissanperformancemag.com...seems like the 3.5 altima headers look decent...they gained 17whp. Looks like this altima is putting down some pretty good power for being...........na. Note the graph is wheel horsepower.

One other note...............they are 620.00. 130 less than the recent cattman released headers for the 4th gen..looks to be a better design and quality but thats just my 2 cents.

HotShot is not going to be making any 3 liter headers, only 3.5.

How can you determine if it's design or quality is better by just looks?

I thought headers were a performance mod, not a visual mod? I have heard too many people say something looks ugly so it has to be crappy.

phxblue blue is in process of testing these headers on his car. He already dynoed his car and it was not close to 247 at the wheels more like 200 without headers

Ya I've never seen a dyno like that eitehr. I believe there are gains but the peak numbers on that are inflated.

I think it appears inflated because it is not to scale. It starts at 100 HP, whereas most dyno's start at 0 HP and use a 25 hp increment scale. Gains under 25 hp don't appear large, however with a skewd scale, the gains look larger. Advertisements use these graphs all the time.

Would I be correct in remembering someone with a 2002 maxima putting 2001 headers on their car to get rid of the precats?

If the VQ35DE and VQ30DE have interchangable headers, that would mean that these will fit on the 4th gen. The HEADERS anyway. I don't know about the y-pipe. Looks kind of gooney.

Now how is it possible for an auto to be putting more power down then a manual with the same mods. Seems a little fishy to me.
