Car stalled in the middle of a turn

i was coming down a hill coasting, when all of a sudden i lose my power steering, then the car would not shift, so i had to push my car out of the intersection. I noticed the battery light came on. I tried to start it back up, but then it would just stall again. I waited 10minutes and the car started right back up.

its a 94 Auto VG

my belts are intact
I had enough gas so i know that's not the problem
for the past few days its been foggy and the roads were wet

Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Definetely sounds like an alternator problem. Especially since the power steering went out and the car started after a rest, the car was probably running on the battery.

Check your alternator.

uhh, the power steering isn't battery dependent. the pump is belt driven. start the car up, and measure how many volts is at the terminals. it should be around 14.4 volts if the alternator is working propertly.
