Great little tuning device

I just bought a G-tech/pro on ebay last week and I was very skeptical on the price. I see how they sell for $139.95 in the car magazines and this seller is selling his for $48! The seller has feedback over 1,000 with 99.4 rating. I just want to let everyone know that this product was brand new in the box and it works perfect & seems to be extremely accurate when compared to my time slips in the past weeks. The mph is on the high side due to the way it calculates the measurements. The only problem I am having is finding 1320 feet of empty roadway r G-tech/pro

How is this Meter?

Anyone know anything about this Meter? Is it actually worth $48.00?

isnt that a really good price for one of these? I may think of getting one of these, if they are indeed new then that would be pretty good...

*edit* i just looked these up and it looks like this is an older version or something, the new ones have an lcd screen and everything, look much nicer... i dunno, maybe thats why they're so cheap...

the one with lcd is the competition series. on the website (http://www.gtechpro.com/ ) they want $250 for it. a little to much. can't find anything better on ebay.

also, looks like you can hook it up to your pc... sweet.

This is tempting.. is it really good for anything, though? Or would this be one of those cool things to just have in your car?

WOW! That's an insane price with a low shipping cost!

Yes, these work and they measure 0-60, 1/4 mile, horsepower, etc. I paid $100 for mine 6 months ago.

well, a guy i know has used one (the cheaper one) to check his HP, and he says it was pretty acurate ( +/- 10 hp, although i think weight could be the matter too). So it looks like it has some use. Well, we'll see

That IS a great price. I just bought one too. I guess they're clearing out the old model to make room for the new one, which looks sweet BTW.

the older ones arent as accurate but close and with the new one you have to have the exact weight to be accurate

I tried the 0-60 twice 1st with a passenger and got 7.02 with a horrible launch and the 2nd by myself was a 6.52. I tried the 1/4 mi mode on my favorite stretch of roadway and the street sweeper had just been in the area so it was a little damp but the G-tech said I got a 15.22@96 At the track I was running 15.18-15.35 between 90-92mph. I need to work on the launch! I am going back to Sacramento Raceway on the 25th with a group of friends to get my auto trans Maxima into the 14's. I probably would have got it last time cause on one run against a 1 gen Lightning I had a 2.296 60' and a 9.693 1/8 mi time but I some how knocked the shifter into 2nd and I hit the rev limiter and it killed the run. I still ran a 15.3@83 to the Ford's 15.6@90

ps I totally think it was worth the $48 I paid for it.

5.88 is what the GTECH said... I seriously think that I dont do 5.88's... Maybe 6.3 or so. Its off by a few tenths. I ran on a level road too.

-Custom Catback Exhaust
-K&N filter / Ghetto Ram Induction
-Trans Cooler = Lots of practice with bump shifting

and thats it!

14.58 best (low humidity GREAT track conditions ~ Cold out)

just a plug in its the fastest way and you dont want to hard wire it because then you cant use it on other cars

A 14.5 run should give you a 5.7-5.8 0-60 time. Just compare your run to the link below as far as 0-60 and 1/4 mi et. If 14.58 is your best et then I would say 5.88 is not far off

The GhettoTech Pro really is a useful tool. But keep in mind it is to be used only as a reference between mods. Most of the data it shows is too optimistic so don't take it all at face value. Just use it to see the differences between runs and modifications.
