Powerslot rotors finally in....

I got home to a fair sized box, and thought that had got to be the powerslot rotors...

Opened the package and wholla!! Very nice looking rotors... 2 pairs for a total of 4 (2 front and 2 rear) all labeled with "L" and "R".

Unfortunately I don't have a digicam so I appologize for teasing those who would have wanted to see it 'cause they look better than on the website.

Oh yeah, it was shipped overnight too (shipped 10/15/03). Way to go PPS (performance parts store) you just increased my faith in your business in the nick of time....

I do still have a pondering question for those of you who are automotive experts or junkies since I'm stumped myself.... Why the heck are the rear non-ventilated discs more expensive than the massively more complex and ventilated discs up front? Same goes for brake pads, especially the raybestos quiet stops.

I just ordered my brake pads from ange today...(Hawk HPS up front and Raybestos QS for rear)... nice gal, called me right back even though I didn't leave a message cause I was going to call later. She was stumped when I asked her the same question regard raybestos and she mentioned that the rotors were like it too.

I look forward to putting them on next week cause i'll be to busy installing my jbl speakers to replace non-bose speakers today and be outa town this weekend. Plus my pads won't be in till next week anyhow.

Supply and demand? People replace the fronts more often so maybe the rears get more expensive because they do not sell and many.

Good luck with the rotors, I need to get mine turned for the second time in 2 years as they keep warping. (but they are on my other car). Follow the break in period.

No, they'll be good until they warp again. Hopefully they will last longer than stock. Seems like a few folks have had good luck with them.

Do you guys with the after market rotors notice that the brakes are a bit louder when applied? I have Stillen cross-drilled rotors and they sound like they are grinding when I apply the brakes hard. Normal? Thanks.

You'll get a whirling sound because of the air moving. My powerslot instructions had a few words on this. It shouldn't be a grinding sound though.

i have Brembo Dimpled/Slotted Front rotors combined with Axxis metal pads. i have them on for about 20k miles, latley they started being more loud(with that whirling sound). does that mean that my pads are soon gonna be done?

also, where can i get Hawk Pads

NO you wont. I've had my p/slots on since May(1500K) and havent had a single problem. I stop faster in the rain, and I can definately feel the difference in overall stopping.Only thing I see thats not good is that KOOSTER got HAWK HPS pads. I have the HP's on mine and I boiled them my first run out with them,....Now they grind until they're up to temp.

As someone stated before FOLLOW THE BREAK-IN PERIOD INSTRUCTIONS!!!! If not you just threw about $300 down the drain.

That's good to know that the Powerslots are out for the '02-'03. At least we have a couple of alternatives for the crappy stock Nissan rotors.

I put powerslots on my parents 2k2 about 2 or 3 months ago after the stock ones warped. Really nice rotors IMO. Very smooth and quiet.. at least compared to the brembo slotted/drilled's on my 97. They're still just as smooth as the day they were installed.

I've slammed on my brakes at high speeds and also had it keep the car in place when i was rear-ended a while back.

So far no vibrations and no warping. I have the OEM

Though i wouldn't mind upgrading to better rotors and pads
