coming back from watching "kill bill" (trully a masterpiece movie if i might add) this dude beeps at me while i was switching lanes going 60mph on 55mph zone and he was going at least 80mph...we both pull up at a light..and notice it is a stock 4th gen maxima! the dude has his girl with him ..and guessin the max was automatic...anyways...i rev to put some pressure before the launch..and the dude in the 4thgen was laughin???well..since i had the car for only a week now, i still sucked at launching since i only used to drive an auto....anyways...my launch sucked so bad that the rpms dropped to 1300 before the g force kicked in...so the 4th gen had about 3/4 car length lead...then in a couple seconds i started to reel him in quick and by the end of 1st gear i was about 3/4 car length ahead...BUT when i tried to shift to 2nd..my car just rolled and reved...it was in neutral...so of course he won...damn..only if i had shifted correctly to 2nd (i know...how could he possibily miss 2nd?)..i would've been gone...anyways, is it ok to push and then drop the clutch while quickly pushing the gas pedal shifting from 1st to 2nd and so on? i felt so mad..since the dude was laughing and being cocky thinking his auto. 4th gen max could beat my 5spd 5th gen max...

 

cliff's notes: I lost in my 5th gen because I didn't shift correctly.

yeah i know..but was so tempted by the power of VQ...i did however race a riced manual focus zx3 and beat it by 4-5 car lengths at the end of 2nd gear right afterwards...so i felt better...yeah, i really do need to baby this car first and get used to the clutch, shift, gas sequence until its intuitive...

You were so mesmerized by Quentin that you lost the necessary motor skills in your right arm and couldn't shift. Great movie!

I would suggest you practice shifting before you disgrace your Maxima again!!
