Extra torque steer w/ different tire size?

I just put 235/45-17's (Michelin Pilot Sport A/S) on this week, and I've noticed so far that the car really pulls to the right noticeably more than before, when I had the stock Bridgestone Potenzas on (225/50-17). I know 235/45-17 is a somewhat smaller overall diameter than 225/50-17... is it typical to experience more torque steer as a result?

FYI, the shop checked the alignment once when they installed the tires, and again the next day when I came back (wheels weren't balanced properly the first time), specs were still good... it doesn't pull to the right at all while coasting, only while accelerating (and it pulls harder as I accelerate harder)
As far as the "pull", it's not dangerously hard, just catches me off-guard once in a while... when I'm alternating between accelerating and coasting/braking, I notice the steering wheel gently pulling to the right/left.
