I ordered one too.....considering im in Canada and all.
Paid him last wednesday, and it came in on friday the next week.

One thing tho.
How tiny are peoples hands here on the org....if they can fit them into that mouse hole of a space......Im thinking about going to my mechanic to do the install, but even he knows the intake manifold has to be taken apart to get at it......

The manifold does not need to come out. Get yourself some long extensions and you'll be fine

i did a knock sensor on my bro car today in 20 mins and din't even have to cut my hand up and squeezee it under the lower intake manifold. i used a long *** extension and a magnet to line the screw and new kncok sensor back to the hole. struggled for a couple mins but wasn't time consumin. could be done in 5 mins without a problem if u did this more than once.

Btw guys, after getting my sensor i meaured its resistance and it was exactly 550k ohms. They are brand new and should be accurate like mine.

I measured my broken KS and the resistance is 550k too. Resistance doesn't mean it's bad. Also 550k isn't the only GOOD value, anything between 500k and 620k is within spec...

just replaced

Must be...... I just replaced my knock sensor and boost sensor last month. Knock sensor doesn't require you pull the manifold. You can get at it with an extension and a swivel or (as I got to it) with an open end box wrench. (I've got skinny hands. ;-) )

It's not related to the knock sensor problem. It's just that when I got the diag codes from the computer it told me the knock sensor AND the boost sensor were bad so I replaced them both. The two are not really related. (Those sensors are $$$$$ though!)

wouldn't that mean your getting actual knocking? Maybe signs that the engine has a problem?

Are you sure you had to replace both???
I thought that if you get a code for a boost sensor(example) then it might trigger the knock sensor. . . maybe if you replaced the boost sensor you wouldn't get the code for the KS???
I don't know. . . i just remember someone saying that one code triggers the other. . .anyone that knows more about this please correct me.

I replaced my ks(91 shipped) and conector(17 bucks). Got it out with a bloody right hand, (I wear a x large glove) but put it back with a scrape free left hand.I found the left hand fits the curve of the manifold better. Good luck

Not sure if I had to replace both since I DID replace both at the same time. The check engine light went out after changing them both.
