Whcih transmission cooler to get?

Hayden vs. B&M vs others

Hayden - 403 or 404

both are in my price range
http://www.bulkparts.com/MM001.ASP?pageno=1181

B&M - 16000-24000 GVW

All in my price range
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...28&prmenbr=361

Others - http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...28&prmenbr=361

are any of those better then the ones listed above?

I might be getting the VB mod within the next year. whcih GVW rating is right for me. Any special features incase the weather is too cold?( i know i live in FL but others might have same Q)

thnx, this will be used for future reference for most tranny cooler Q's from now on

I have the Hayden 404. Actually it does all of the cooling for my tranny since the part that would normally pass through part of my radiator is unusable (thanks to crap from my last transmission being in there). I can't complain. Just flushed my old fluid out after 30000 miles of driving and the old fluid was in such good condition that it was *really* hard to tell which was old.

If I could still pass tranny fluid through part of my radiator I may have gone with the B&M and utilised its feature of not opening up until the tranny fluid is warm.

Edit: I live in Canada and it was -30 a few times last winter - no problems at all.

You can get the lowest GVW but I'm using the B&M 24,000. I run my tranny hard and it's still shifting like new.

deezo, have you ever cheched if yout tranny reaches normal operating temp (~180)? i have a tranny temp gauge installed, the most i've ever seen is 150, but there is a slight chance my temp sensor is not installed optimally (i T it in the "out" line from the tranny to the stock cooler).
