Help!! My 12cu. ft sub box broke my trunk latch!!!

I need to know what to do. My subs broke the metal bracket that attatches to the inside bottom of the trunk and has nearly backed every screw in the back of the trunk out. I need some help to figure ou tif its is rivets, bolts or welds that hold this in because my box is so huge i can barely get my hand down in there. I've got it tied up with wire for the time being, but it still flaps around and doesn't hold the trunk closed too good. All the help is appreciated.

Wow......props for going deaf at an early age.....I mean for blowing your latch.....

First, i would take the sub out of the trunk for the main fact that it provides an easier work area.

Second, i would go buy some loc-tite and put that on all nuts bolts, screws, ect., ect., ect.

If i remember correctly, it bolts in. Next time, i would make the trunk latch sit alittle looser so as to allow proper air flow, or tighten that bastage down and put down the rear seat arm rest and trunk divider. Sounds to me like you were not doing that.

I do recall the lower trunk latch being removable.. It is part of the autotrunk release frm the inside... Probably 10mm bolts.. You need to take it out from the side though.. Get the damn box out of there for 15min to make this happen.. PS.. Don't bother removing unless you have a new one to put back in.. y go there twice..??

You sould never permentaly build anything like a sub into your car. This will be the last time you do when you end up getting rear ended. I can understand makeing it all look fluch, but alwasy build a way to take it back apart/out. Who knows, maybe you might buy a newer Max one day, and want to install it into that?
