in most cars the pilot bearing is REAL bearing.. but in the max it in nothing more then a pc of metal that changes the diameter of the insode of the crank to the input shaft size for the tranny.. IE.. don't bother changing it.. it is a waste of time.. If you really feel the need go get PB blaster and spray it.. wait 1 hr.. Then get a seal puller and pop it out.. See a real pilot bearing has a MUCH larger hole and you use a dent puller w/ a bearing puller attachment..

What cbr2 says about it not being a bearing is right, it is a bushing, or metal sleeve. I'd pull it and replace though, cheap insurance. There's two styles of pilot bearing pullers: the slide hammer style that cbr2 mentions and a threaded turn handle style with adjustable legs, that's less expensive and less abusive on your crank. The turn handle style is about $15, you might even be able to rent it for a few bucks at your local auto store.
