Swapping SOHC to DOHC? 93 GXE
Swapping SOHC to DOHC? 93 GXE
Need some help w/ swapping engines. OG 93GXE has 215K and want to put the engine from a SE.
Questions:
Is this still possible?
Where and who to get engine from?
Will there be major modifications?
Any connects up in Nor CA, Bay Area?
Thanks,

Let me save you some trouble and abuse. It IS POSSIBLE, but would be too involved for what its worth. You will need the entire wiring harness from the SE as well as the ECU, and everything else that might be different. You're better off buying an SE and selling your GXE
tip of the day, back whent he vg and ve where the only v6's in the states, nissan raced with the vg in the 300z's
and bajaed with the vg in the hardbodies and pathfinders.
just a tad of info for you.
it can be built. no one has tapped anything close to what it can do yet

VG30ET would offer less mounting hassles than anyother engine and you can use your existing ECU + wire harness. Plus the fact that the engine will make over 400whp with bigger turbo, injectors and tuning make it the best option.
akoni,
this thread is sort of right in with what you are getting into, is more general but chock full of informed opinions:
