Shaved 3 tenths with new injectors
Shaved 3 tenths with new injectors
Whats up everyone, I thought I'd give an update. Today I had the opportunity to hit the track (left work for lunch and did'nt come back!).
The track was a little wet at the start, since the people who run the place were too lazy to hose down the burn out section on their own. So all the racers were squirting the damn garden hose everywhere. The temps were low today, probably in the 50's, the water didnt have a chance to evaporate. Hence a good amount of tire spin off the line and some poor 60ft times.
run#1, 60ft:2.425, 1/8mile:10.4, 1/4 mile:16.025, MPH:87
Run#2, 60ft:2.420, 1/8mile10.415, 1/4 mile:16.027, MPH:87.18
The second run I plugged the vacuum hose for the FPR, so it would run full press. all the way through. Both runs I had 26psi in the front.
So if you remember when I had the JWT ecu, the car did a 16.0 also. The engine pinged so I had to return the ecu. I dont know if the engine will or not ping now that the injectors are all good. I kinda doubt I'll get the jwt ecu again.
future mods: rebuild vtc's, and an aftermarket fpr (any suggestions on which brand?).

The injectors might have helped you a little. But you said you ran in 90 degree weather last time when you got the 16.30s. Just due to temperature ALONE, I can see you shaving 4 tenths in the 1/4 mile.
BTW, that 60' is about normal, in fact, pretty decent for a VE Auto. That trap speed is about normal for that time too. I get 2.29's while doing high 14s in NC 50 degree weather. I get 2.34s while doing low 15s in Cali 75 degree weather. I get 2.40's while doing mid 15's in Vegas 60 degree weather. And I get 2.45's while doing 16 flat in Vegas 90 degree weather full street trim. ALL of those times are no tire spin at all. You MIGHT hear a chirp from my wheels, pretty much only in the 1-2 shift though.
