2000 Maxima/Infiniti I30t 17x7s on a 3rd generation?
2000 Maxima/Infiniti I30t 17x7s on a 3rd generation?
I want to put 2000 Maxima SE or Infiniti I30t 17x7 inch rims (offset 45 mm) on my 1994 Maxima SE (stock 15 inch wheels have a 32 mm offset). New tire size would be either 225/50/17 or 215/50/17. Will this work without problems with the tires rubbing suspension parts? Other possibilities/suggestions using stock 17x7, 17x7.5 or 17x8 OEM infiniti (Q45, I30 or G35) or Nissan (Maxima, 350Z) rims?
how much are you getting these for? i wouldn't recommend these wheels because they weigh in excess of 20 pounds. Wheel weight is a lot more important than weight in a car since the wheels spin. if you want some good looking wheels for a low price that always don't weight much check out Rota wheels. They are priced right and look good. Some of them don't weight much more than the stocks wheels too.

the 5/114.3 bolt circle will undoubtedly match, unless they are a freak of nature. offset is iffy. maxima lives between 30-40mm (considered "high"). the offset may work. only way to absolutely know is to put one on, as there may be a point where the offset is too high, beyond the sweet spot.
as already said, they will not be lightweight. get some for-real lightweight rims and you will see what the big deal is about unsprung weight: heavy rims rob valuable power, and handling is compromised.
