2" Drop Springs w/ KYB GR2's

I want a low drop but i dont know if i want to spend $400-$500 on struts. I was thinking about getting Sprint or Dropzone springs because of the 2" drop. Would this kind of drop work well with the GR2's or will the struts blow? Does anyone have the Sprints or Dropzone springs, if so which struts did you match them up with?

if u are looking at 2" drop then u must go with some good shocks. 2" is alot of drop and it brings the car down close to bumpstops and weak shocks cant handle that. either do it right and get good shocks or u will be looking at suspention bottoming problems later on. i would only get illumina or agx or koni yellows if i was u. the lower u go, the more pressure will be put on suspention when going over bumps

Most use sprints here to go that low.

sprints

yeah i got sprint with GR-2's

i dont think the ride is that bad. the only problem i am having is with a rattling/grinding noise coming from the rear. that is more than likely a problem with the installation seeing as i did it myself and do not know that much.

i was in the same boat you were and i just went ahead and got the GR-2's.

i got sprints with kybs and the ride is not as bad as some make them out to be. i figure why not enjoy it now while i still can then trade them in for some HRs later when i get tired of them... better than starting with HRs only to want to experiment with a low drop only to go back to HRs. catch my drift.

if you do go sprints.. def go with kybs at min.

be sure to get a camber kit. You need it if the car is dropped 2" or more...

Progress Springs, GR-2 struts, and KYB bumpstops. Total will cost you about 500.00 to your door. This suspension does not give your car a dramatic import tuner look, but will lower it a little more than H&R and give it a clean BMW tpe look. No camber kit required, just get your wheels aligned two weeks after words.

The ride I kid you not is just like OEM, the handling is awesome, the rebound is incredible (no more floating) and the look is so clean. If your serious about getting this set up and can't find all the parts for around 500.00 let me know and I'll put you in the right direction.

If you want a dramatic drop you will need sprints with IMO tokico illuminas, and a camber kit. Good luck on what ever you decide.

Does anyone have any pics of their car with the Sprints on or Progress springs? I would like to see the difference between them. For the guys who have Sprints, do all of you have camber kits?

How long have you had the Sprints and Gr2's on the car? Do you hear any noises coming from the springs or struts at all?

I have had them on my car for about 3 weeks and hear some weird noises coming from the rear. I have no real clue on what is wrong. I am suspecting that it is either, wrong order of assembly, upside down springs, or not a good enough job of wrapping the coils. that is my only complaint cause it make me not want to drive my car till i figure it out. i actually have a thread asking if anybody can tell me what is wrong going on right now, so hopefully they can pinpoint the problem for me.

Anybody want Sprint lowering Springs? I don't want to drop my car 2"s Need to sell them. Seems you guys are giving bad news about just lowering maxima's 2"s without shocks/struts. If you're interested they're Sprint 9500 Brand New set of 4, 2" lowering. PM if interested...

I got a set sitting in my garage. Nothing wrong with them, just replaced them with H&R's for a smoother ride.

If anyone's interested, $80+shipping. Used almost 2 yrs.
