Im probably gonna do mine maybe like 20% next spring. I hate the fact that its not tinted from the factory. I cant even drive around with the slider thing open when its sunny out. The glare is terrible.

When I got my windows tinted I also wanted the sunroof done. The tint place said they would do it but it wouldn't be warranted. They said it attracts more heat from the sun and will crack the glass.

They are a very professional shop that has been in business for many years. They have tinted all my cars and do an awesome job. Show quality work. How do you know so much about tint?

just reading... I believe that 'myth' comes from residential tinting where they're doing glass in the 10-40 square foot range. Your sunroof is tempered, it's not going to break from tinting.

I kinda thought the same thing when they told me that. I just assumed they new more about tinting than me since they are professionals.

Ya your glass will be fine. I did 35% but only cause I had some left over from doin my front windows. Go with 20% - thats what was on my old camry. Can see fine but it keeps enough sun out too

Too bad I don't got a sun roof, although the rest of my windows got 20% all around. I think 5% is the best way to go for the sun roof, it should be just fine.

I'm thinking about getting either 20% or 35% done on mine, but will probably wait until next Spring.

I got 20% all around. Funny thing is, its been really sunny here the past fews days and I was riding in my g/f's car and the sunlight was so strong! I could hardly stand it now that I'm used to my 20%.

My friend had a 1/2 a roll of leftover 20% so we did mine. I would recommend 20%, or anything darker, anything lighter would be pointless.

Thanks for replies.......i finally tinted the whole car 35% and sunroof 20%. looks good w/ black interior. the only concern i have now is that the guy at the shop told me that the car has to be on the sun for 2 days......and so far there is no sun in next several days (and it's cold), can this be a problem, like tint pilling off or something?

When I first got my tint, I did the same thing. But since the sunroof is tinted @ 20% too, I doubt it made a difference. Even though 20% is illegal here, I haven't gotten pulled over yet.

And yes you do need to let the tint set for a few to several days before you use the windows. Otherwise the film will peel off. If it hasn't been sunny, then give it a few more days.

If it's bad enough out, who cares, you don't need tint

If it's (remotely) sunny, it's open. (up to -10 celcius, 15 farenheit at 60 MPH is my limit. In traffic -30)

BLKMAX005SPD, I still see fine with 5%. It's not like I use it to 'look' out of, but the sun comes through just right. I have 35% in the back and that would have been too light, IMO.

Kolyan, I got mine done in the middle of winter. I blasted the heat whenever I was in the car and left the rear defroster on ALL the time. I think that helped, but I also didn't put the windows down for about 10 days. No problems 2 years later
