Alright. Here it is. I got a 95 SE and want to put in the Gen. II Alteezas (http://www.custommaxima.com/AltezzaGenII.php) or the red/clear tails (http://www.custommaxima.com/RedClearTails.php). I understand that there is a problem with the inner 97-99 lights not fitting the 95-96 trunk lid. Other than swapping the trunk lid is there any way to fit them? I think that the 97-99 red/clears look much better than the reded-out 95 lights.

Another Q: What are these 'perfectly clear' corner lights. I looked at the pic from a previous discussion thread but it was too small to tell if they are any good. So has anyone actually seen them? Do they look alright? And I hear that they leak pretty bad too.

 

Well, you wouldn't be able to fit them unless you did either some major body work (a lot of $$$ involved here) or got the 97-99 rear end conversion. You could get some 95-96 altezzas and paint them.....that still looks pretty nice.

And as for the "perfectly clear" bumper lights.....ever heard of the brand APC?

And that's who makes them. Just go straight for the diamond clears. They look AWESOME with some upgraded bulbs in them.

 

when you say major body work, what exactly is the difference between the 95 and 97 rear ends. and how much am i looking at for the conversion? I am guessing that you are talking about painting the 95-96 Alteezzas in the Skyline style. I guess it does look pretty hot.

APC is pretty crappy. thanks for the heads up. i already found the diamond cuts (at least i think they are ) on a repo 98 maxima, only it was missing i think the left corner. the fronts and the right i have. anyway to buy just that one?

The difference I guess is just the shape of the trunk lids. I woundn't know how much it costs for a conversion, do a search, you'll find something.

Also, the 95-96 front and rear ends had horrible 5mph pole crash tests (someone please direct him to the link of the pole test, IDK where it is, you can also search for that too). The 97-99 front and rear ends came out of the pole tests with barely a scratch. And when I say 5mph pole crash tests, that's exactly what I mean. running the maxima into a pole at 5mph (both ends).


As for the clears, just buy new ones.

i havent been able to find any place that has 95-96 clear/clear tails. i was going to paint the tops red and leave bottom clear like the 97-99 red/clears, but can i actually do that considering the housings for the light bulbs might be different from top to bottom? Anyone have a link to a place where i can get the clear/clear tails?

 

They only made outer clear tails (2 pieces) for 95-96 maximas.

If you want 97-99 tails in your 95-96 you NEED to swap a 97-99 trunk lid, end of story.
