This is for infiniti I30 1998.

The SES code is 0803 = Manifold Absolute pressure sensor or Circuit fault.

Can someone help me with this problem. Thank you.

 

It's that sensor on the snorkle right up front that says Boost sensor. It reads both manifold and atmospheric pressure.

 

So, should I just replace it? Or there is somehting behind this code that I should look into?

I got this code and it was because the sensor wasn't snapped in correctly and wasn't making good contact. After snapping the plug in correctly the check engine light never gave this code out again.

Before wasting any money on this sensor check if it is plugged in completely, you should hear a snap if so.

 

Another question though... Would the malfunction of this MAP sensor cause any lack in performance?

 

If you took off the snorkel put it back on and plug it in. Reset CEL.
