i am one lucky SOB
i was driving home last night on a wide curvy street (for thoes that are in the bay area it was the road that connects 19th and park presidio) i was in the lane next to the cement wall divider. i took one of the left winds at around 70mph and hit my brakes before the curv (ya i dont knwo what i was thinking) next thing i know, there is hella overstear and im drifting down the street facing the wall. i do one 360, then the front of my car hits the wall, then on the 2nd 360 the rear of my car was about a centimiter from the wall (my friend was driving behind me) but does not hit it. i was able to control it fairly well and recovered and was able to drive away and check out the damage. remarkably it was some how only a scratch here is a pic:

as you can see from the picture, it was only a scratch on the bumper and a small area on the light. there are no dents or damage or anything, jus tthat scratch.
this was my first "accident" so it was pretty big for me. i was amazed at how minor the damage was considering what happened.
so thats my weekend experience, let the flaming begin

lol, i actually went back there today to perfect it, gotta fix what i did wrong
how do you think i shoudl get that fixed? i know that if i take it to a body shop ill get charged like $600 cus they will say they have ot paint the entire bumper. im thinking of trying to do it myself. sand it down and get some paint form a dealer. my dad does work liek this sometimes so he knows what to do. what do you guys think?

It will be more expensive that way. Also, theres really no point in replacing the entire front end and lip if their is no structural damage, only paint...
Hell, try it yourself, worst that'll happen is it wont look perfect. Then just take it to a shop when you get money...
EDIT: Keep in mind, the max is NOT a sports car, slow down!

lucky stuff....i cant flame you ...i have done some dumb **** in my day....part of being a 1st year driver at 17 yrs old...dont know how old you are...
i lost control of my integra 4 times when I had it...twice I did 360s without hitting anything, once $1500 in damage...last was a totaled car, a very nearly broken body and a instant broken heart....
just hope you learned from this.
BTW I was born in Hayward and lived the first 4 yrs of my life in Union City.

However, the maximas handling capabilities are limited compared to other cars from the factory.

You're much better off racing in a controlled environment. Seriously.
Do it before you hurt someone, or yourself for that matter.
(You'll not only vastly improve your driving, but you'll have a f'n blast)

but yea, seriously.. take it easy, we dont wanna hear about you wreckin again and gettin seriously hurt
I believe you might can get the bumper taken off and painted cheaper than that.Mine is the same color and I had the rear bumper done for $150.That was a I deal I got from a friend of a friend.he told me the normal price is about $300.
I bought everything paintscratch.com said i needed to repair a nickle size chip in my paint.I followed the directions exactly but after trying everyday for 4 weeks their paint will not stick.I called them and I did everything they told me to do but it still isn't sticking.Based on my experience with their product i would not buy from them.I've spent my money and a great deal of time on this and my car still has the same chip it had 4 weeks ago
I already PMed you about this, but 19th and park presidio is the LAST place to do this. go down to the two lane great highway. mile+ long. go out late at night when its totally empty, no red light cameras...a lot smarter than busy and dangerous richmond

ya i go there all the time. i dont go to 19th and park presideo all the time, my friend and i were just driving through there, and he ****ed me off, so when i passed him i screwed up.
Ok this stems from what you said but is sorta random.
What started your spin was trail braking, it happens when you get on the brakes while turning the weight shifts forward and your rear wheels go where they will. But is it still considered trail braking as you go around and around or is it just momentum?
sorry for the randomness I was just wondering and people reading this thread might know
