i just got done putting a new cd player in the max. now i want to replace the front speakers. the hu installation was kind of a pain because of the million wires connecting the trim piece, so im almost scared to tackle the doors. how hard is it and about how long will it take? i know its at least an all day job. also what size speakers will fit in easiest?4x6s? will i have to bypass the bose amps? thanks

bose speaker

if u got a bose setup that means u couldnt have 4x6's in there..... it u used a metra wiring harness just follow the colors of the wire the eand white with black stripe follow that to the factory wire harness and check what color they r
then take the left front door panel off look for those same color wire thats goin into the bose amplifire and cut them off the circuit board and extend those wires with the wire that came from the new speakers and there in..... if i didnt make my self clear there is someone on the board that has insturctions on how to replace

Actually, rambo, ray is pretty much on the money with his description. If you got a Bose system, then you'll have to bypass the amp. As for size, you could drop some 4 1/2 inchers in there. Even 5 1/2 would work. I'd probably get rid of the pod that the speaker sits in if you want to go any larger, though. ngthing just swapped his speakers out for some 6 inchers, so you might want to ask him. He's here somewhere. Good luck!

why?

why does everyone say that you HAVE to bypass the factory bose amp? i just replaed the head unit to a 10 disc cd changer, and the factory bose amps and speakes work fine.. sound great also!
