Gauging Interest G/D for Magnaflow Cat Convertor..

Main difference between the Magnaflow cat vs. other brands would be that it's all polished stainless steel construction... price would be under $100 depending on how many people are interested.

I'd most likely be in. Is it a direct bolt on?

Magnaflow has been a leading aftermarket exhaust manufacturer for over 20 years and they're one of the few aftermarket companies that is ISO 9001 certified.

Hi Gabe- Got your paypal today. Will be shipping it out on Monday!

Honestly, there are no proven gains from any aftermarket cat.convertors persay. What one achieves when replacing old (stock) catalytic convertor is to eliminate restriction in the stock cat (and the years of carb build-up).

Do they have a 3 inch one for turbo charged cars that would be a direct bolt on for a maxima?

Great Will go well with my new set-up.. Budget SS Y Pipe, (Magnaflow SS Cat-coming soon), Magnaflow Resonator, Budget SS B Pipe, and Stock 2k2 Muffler. I was not going to replace my Cat, but I figured since I was replacing nearly all of my exhaust due to leaks in the Y pipe and muffler, that I might as well go all out, one less thing to replace in the future. Can't wait till I can install everything

How about 1995-1996?

Ange do they make a direct bolt on for 1995-1996? Don't forget we have an O2 sensor in our cats unlike '97+. Please let me know.
Thanks,
-Cyrus

if i have a 95, but ordered a 97 catback, can i use the O2 sensor hole in there and order a 97 aftermarket cat? (so i don't have to worry about sticking a bolt in the extra hole)

They do not make 'bolt-on' applications, you will have to get the Magnaflow cat welded on. Also, as I recently found out with 95-96 Maximas.. you guys have o2 sensor at the cat, Magnaflow does have an application with opening for o2 sensor.

www.magnaflow.com ?

I'm not a Magnaflow engineer.. from what I can tell about the product is that it is all stainless steel construction.. nothing mentioned about ceramic.

I would Ange, but I already got one. For those of you who do not have one, I would suggest it. For under $100, you'll possibly see 3-4 HP on a Dyno. Thats much better than $200 for the same gains that a pulley gives.

Good Luck Ange.

I don't think you will see those kinds of numbers just from a cat converter...but its still a good investment. I hope you run this in the spring when I get my OBX catback. Good luck Ange.

A cat by itself will net no improvement assuming the original was still in good shape

would it be possible to order one for a '97, but a little shorter in overall length? i know thats a strange request, but i'll explain why:
i have a '95, but i purchased a '97 obx catback off eBAY (it was incorrectly advertised as 95+). since it already has a O2 sensor hole in the b pipe AND it will be a little longer on my car, i figure i could remedy that by gettin a hi flow cat w/o an o2 sensor and moving my sensor down to the b pipe and also shortening the cat, so the whole catback would not stick out as much.
i will have to check for sure to see if it will work when i get home next week. if its possible and you could shorten the hi flow cat (i'll figure out what length i need when i get a chance to measure), then im definitely in. thanks.

oops sorry about the last post, i know you referred me to their site but i thought the ones on their site required welding and i thought you had made these a direct bolt on application for us.

That won't work bud, all the hangars would be off and all the bends would be off enough to hit the car. Good Idea, but it wont work.

oh okay thanks cyrus. I guess when i get home i'll take a look at it and see what else i can do about it. if this is the case then i take it the part on 97-99 catbacks that is longer than the 95-96 catbacks is probably around the muffler area huh?
do you think i could still get a 97 hi flow cat and move the 02 sensor downstream a little bit (so i dont' have to worry about an extra hole in my exhaust)?
