how do i get rid of day lights?

I tried searching various posts on this topic but came up empty handed so please dont flame for not searching. I have a 1995 Maxima GLE and I wanted to know how to get rid of my day lights so i dont burn out the bulbs faster. If someone could post on how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated

Day lights? I don't have any lights on my car that turn on automatically, you have to turn them on yourself. If you mean the lights next to the headlights they are cornering lights not day lights and they don't turn on unless you put on the headlights. Also bulbs don't wear out that fast...

He is in toronto. The daylight running lights were somehow incorporated into their Max (mandatory I supposed). Someone correct me if I am wrong. The U.S trims does not have this from 95-04? We have auto on , I think starting from year 2000. I may be wrong. This is a free bump for you though.

There should be a fuse for the DRL circuit. Find it and pull it.

So the DRL circuit will only effect my day lights? I'll give it a try. Thanks

DRL uses a low voltage circuit to the HIGH BEAM bulbs. My '95 has never burnt out a high beam filament to date.

BTW I'm in Toronto, and I think it's a good safety issue. Have you noticed how those older cars look invisible on the roads now that the majority of cars have DRL? Leave it as is

if you cant see a car because it does not have DRL then you need to have your license pulled.

besides. I will never own a car with DRL and if i do, they will be disabled. What is the point of wiring up your car so that you can turn off your brake lights, tail lights, and reverse lights for when you run from the cops or do drive-bys and you have those crappy DRL still working.

stealth is the key. i drive as if no one can see me.

Down with the DRLs!!!!

Yep.
It's all about being able to be in control my car.
If I want my headlights on, I'll turn it on.
It's my car.

Living in a state (Oregon) where the sky is mostly cloudy most of the time, making the midday seem more like 4 p.m., it only makes freaking sense to turn on DRM or even your complete headlights-other cars can better see you on the road. If your car is a dark or silver colour and the sky is cloudy, I kid you not-your Max may become an Mini. Seen it happen too many times.

Common sense. Amazing.

Now if you are running from the cops-by all means pull the plugs and disable your lights. Oh, and look out for the nail strips on the road.

i dont run from the cops often....just too poor to pay for speeding tickets. that and doing 70 - 100 MPH down back roads is fun.

Having no lights when you go out and paintball a friends house, or saran wrap his honda after putting KY under his door handles is nice.

and yes, i agree with you torvan, if it is cloudy or becoming darker, and im not up to no good, then i have my low beams and fogs turned on.

I drive smart, not wrecklessly. I just pretend like no one can see me. much safer that way. I act the same way when i ride motorcycles.
