I did a leather seat conversion and decided to wait on the heated seats due to finances and my lack of patience on seeing the leather installed. I was told one could put the heated seats in afterward by pulling out the foam and gluing the stuff down and re-installing it would be easy. Ask any uhpolstry shop and they will have WAY better directions. Good luck and keep us all posted with a possible write-up. Godd luck honkey...

I bought heated cloth seats from someone who upgraded to leather. Heated seats are one of the few things the Max is not prewired for but you can tap into any 12 volt source. The locations for the switches are marked under the console. If you went this route install would be fairly easy.

The factory heating elements are outragously expensive but there are aftermarket heating elements avaiable. However removing and reinstalling the seat covers is a PITA. You can probably get a price quote from a local sunroof/car alarm type place for an aftermarket seat heater.

The easiest and cheapest way would probably be to find factory heated seats if you can get a good deal.

it is simple All you need is the heating core( there is 2 per seat). Also you need the buttoms to turn them on and off. Dealer sells them a piece for $65. Too much for me so I got some from my friend. The wriring connects to your interior harness and that goes to the ECU. And a fuse that goes into the fuse box for heated seats. Taking the leather off the seat is very simple and putting it back is also simple. If you got time and all the parts, it probably tkae you a day to do it without experience. I did it on my moms I30 and they work excellent now.

I wouldnt say that adding heated seats isnt a possibility but it does require some time.. I decided to add leather and heated seats to my max at the same time.. I did some investigating and found that the car doesnt come from the factory prewired with the harnesses for the heated seats. I didnt want aftermarket heaters because I didnt like the switches. After finding the part numbers for the seat elements, with no help from the dealer, I found out how expensive they are. The dealer wanted $212 per element and you need four total elements and $65 for each switch. I got the switches and wiring harnesses from the junkyard for about $75 total.. If you use the factory switches you need the factory connectors. I got a wiring terminal from the dealer and wired them right into the fuse panel as it would have come from the factory.. The factory shop manual was very helpful in helping me locate which connector to add the wire to. As for the seat elements.. I found a website that sells them for about $150 each. WWW.NISSANPARTS.CC the parts are not listed in the catalog if you enter the two part numbers in the search field on the left they will come up. The part numbers are 87335-41U40 and 87635-41U40 and you need two of each for drivers and passengers seat. The whole project could be completed in a day. The end results were well worth it, nothing like warm seats in the winter.

man.....

that is sad that you need warm seats. That is why i have the nice cloth seats. Never hot, never cold, and you dont get the 4$$ wear spot in your seats after a few years.

although leather seats would be nice, the heater in the Max works so fast that i dont have time to be cold.

are you sure?? i thought that all maxs came already wired it was just a matter of getting the options. for example, fog lights. if your max doesnt have them it is still wired to have them. all you need is the fogs and the stalk for the steering wheel.
