Need your advice (even if its rude,...lol)

Ok well I have these mods on my car.

Cattman Y-pipes
Cattman Intake
Magnaflow Exhaust

These little mods have given me alittle above average advantage towards the cars in my town. But what I wanted to know is what else can I add, that can give my car more HP. My car is a AUTO, so what else can I do? I thought about a ECU upgrade, but I don't understand what MEVI stands for (yes I'm a newbie and I did a search) but its still confusing, and allot of the org. members get off topic on the search. Some people say JWT others Gforce, which one is the creme de la creme? Do I need a MEVI? What else ??? I noticed my car has a limiter, I tried maxing it out, and I got to like 122. Well the ECU upgrade change that? Any advice on what else I should add to my car would be great. Oh and last but not least I need 2,000 miles more before my car hits 140,000miles. WHat should I do, besides oil changes, tranny flush, tune up, etc...... Thanks alot.

MEVI is a variable intake mod. it has long intake runners and short ones. it switches over to a shorter route at high rpms so you dont get the big power cut after 5.5k like on the usdm version of the max..

get b pipe next to complete your exhaust setup.

then work on suspension.. our cars are boats in stock form.

Making sure the knock sensor is working properly could be worth more hp than your intake and exahust. Enough of the power mods. Get a rear sway bar to begin the suspension

Hey thanks DREWM for the maxmods, but I've already been there, thats why I'm asking on the forum. Its a good resource. But like it says for the y pipes, I'm looking for the best bang for the buck! turbos and superchargers are out of my reach. So just some B.A.D.A.S.S. bolt on's. I just want to keep the compenition at bay.

Oh, and as far as suspenion, I've seen some lowering kits on ebay, are they anygood? I was thinking of going with the kit that custommax offers, because they springs are silver, and well my car is white, so I think it would look cleaner. Even thou no one would really see them. Also I got some 15's with normal tires, what size rims would look sweet on the car, I dont want to lose any hp, because there heavy, nor do I want them to look small.

if u going to do suspension work dont gop by color cordination. go for ride quality and a desired drop look. for example... friday night im going to get my car lowered. i have KYB AGX adjustable struts. these are 4 way adjustable in the front and 8 in the rear. and im matching them with Sprint springs. the drop is kind of extreme. but its waht I prefer. the ride quality is lost a bit, because of the severe drop. but i like the stiff setups. from what i hear eibach is the nicest for ride uality and tokicko(spelling?) are a good setup. but its all up to you,. u have to decide for urself. good luck

if sc or turbo is out of your reach, i'd steer clear of mevi as well. $$$

go with suspension and visual mods. I just installed anniversary edition pedals, chrome gauge cluster rings and a stillen/ionic kit... (in addition to stillen f, carsound cat and apexi catback )

Yeah, there was a GD for Mevi's a little while back, they were still running about $650 with the install kit. But I know people who really like their MEVI's once they're properly set up, so its all up to you. I don't have one personally due to lack of funds, but it may be in the future. A chip should take out the speed limiter as well as letting you rev a little further to take advantage of MEVI which stands for Middle Eastern Variable Intake - Vtec for our cars essentially....or as the ricers would say - vtech!

Sweet!, nah, the only reason I dont want SC or TURBO is because I feel like it would be a big hassle for a everyday drive. The SC has been on my mind alot, but I dont think its worth it, if I run my car every other weekend. I'm willing to buy a MEVI and the ECU upgrade. The only reason I'm debating whether to drop it or not, is because the roads here are uneven, lots lots of potholes, and abuse. I swear car companys bring there lastest models and test drivem on our roads.LOL thanks

With a y-pipe you should of maxed out at 140 mph. I just have a catback and max out like 125. I think you should like up the F.A.Q. because I think you have a speed limiter.

That last post is really WRONG. A y-pipe will not let you go 15mph faster than before. A stock max can go like 140mph and with the y-pipe you might be a couple miles faster if any. Won't it take like 100hp more just to go like 10mph faster, whatever. Good night...

want to go fast?
VB mod/drop resistor
NOS
thats all you can really do to your max, a MEVI will make it slower and weak unless your at 5k plus which is not often, great on highways not 1/4 times.
ecu upgrade? only worth doing with mevi to raise rev limiter. mevi only usefull if you've got real power your losing above 5k because of a turbo or supercharger. imo. from what i have read.

just pimp it out, i have an auto and i understand its slow. i'v decided just to do the best suspenion and visual mods from now on. 1 speeeding ticket and i decided me and my max can go fast enough already

to go faster , it really comes down to your transmission. You may have a billion Hp in a 5 speed but a 6th speeder could top out higher

You can make a 2 speed top out higher if you wanted too. Give it some VERY long gears and you're set...
