I just got off the phone with the nissan dealer here in auburn and nissan of america. My car is and has been in the shop for 5 weeks now...and now it is having to be towed to Atlanta to go to another dealer that might have some other ideas. It has to go to atlanta because the service rep for the southeast wont return auburns calls. Its pretty sad when a car company has no interest in looking at a car because it is not at a major dealership. The dealer says they have no clue what is wrong with the car after spending $700 in labor and now they are putting it back together. My car has had 3 transmissions, two separate timing problems and now this problem...its a 93SE with only 70000 miles on it. These major problems should not be happening. Nissan USA has no comment and is not willing to help me out money or advice wise. They say they are sorry....eventhough im only 1000 miles over the facory warranty that they gave me with the last tranny. This car has been the biggest limon in the world and even though i love it to death...i think im gonna have to sell it. And guess what...I seriously doubt i will invest in another nissan. I have heard im not the only one who has had problems with the 93 engine....so if you have a 93SE or are looking at buying one, check out the car history carefully.....or all of this could happen to you.

I have to ask what caused the 1st to transmission failures and were did you get them repaired at? Next a timing problem could be as simple as a bad coil pack or as bad as VTC failure. What kind of symtoms did the transmission show before it failed? I'm willing to bet that your TCU (Transmission control unit is bad). Next time get a 5spd and be done with it.
