Need HELP - How to remove rear door trim?

I want to replace my rear door speakers (non-BOSE) with some Infinity Kappas but i am having hard time removing the rear door trim.(plastic) I can't see any bolts, screws and etc. I don't want to push/pull it too hard and brake something. How is the door trim attached and is there a special method to remove it. I need to get to these speakers somehow. What's the right way? Please help! btw - car is 2003 Max SE.

Thanks!

Remove the round plastic cap at the bottom of the handhold. Unscrew the screw in there. Then gently but firmly lift out the whole plastic piece starting from the rear. Then unplug the connector to the window control.

Also remove the trim piece around the door opener handle...that just pops off. Then remove the panel.

When you remove the dor panel start pulling from the bottom. If you feel around the bottom of the panel there is acually an opening that you can put your fingers in and pull. I made the mistake of prying from the side and breaking one of the clips.

Let us know how it goes with the speaker installation. I tried to install my pioneers in the back, but was unable to find an adaptor and didn't feel like drilling more holes b/c there's gotta be another way around.

It's darn near impossible to find an adapter that fits. I made them out of 1/2" MDF, using the stock adapter base as a pattern. Then got some longer screws to mount them back in the door and put mortite betweem the MDF and the metal door panel.

Well, i was able to do one side. It took me long because i didn't have my wiring ready. Anyway, i had to drill three additional holes in the door to be able to install my Infinity Kappas. It was very easy with a metal drill bit. (2 minutes job)

Removing the actual door trim, ... well, it was scary because i was afraid that i will break something. I did break one of the small clips but it's not a big deal. Everything came off relatively easy. I'm doing the other side this weekend.

Now i need to get power to feed my amplifier in the trunk. Anyone has a suggestion where to get the power from??? Battery would be best, but how would i run the wire front to rear, especially if i have to find a whole in the firewall? Any suggestions>?

Thanks!

I ran the power wire along the left side floor. All the floor trim pops out pretty easily, and you can sliide a pretty good gauge wire in there and then pop it back in. I used a Monster Cable Amp kit, which included all the connectors, shrink tubing, and a gromet for the firewall. I drilled into the firewall, out of sight, filed the hole a bit with a rat tail file, and then the grommet popped right in. Slide the power wire through the grommet and route it to the + cable on the battery. It's actually very easy.

Alalso, check out ICE's install on his BASSLINK sub for similar but more detaild info(note, he didn't drill the firewall):

I thought about doing the same thing guys at max-world.org did (go to how-to section) with the front speakers. They took the old speaker with the frame, cut out the speaker and put new one there. I'll try to do that and see how it goes.

Thing is, when I put the speaker just to match the holes it just doesn't seem like the speaker will fit exactly. It looks like there is gonna be some space (backlashes???) between the speaker and the wall. How did yours fit?

I wish I had posted this before. Go to www.max-world.org and go to How-To section in menu on your left. There's A LOT of useful info there. How to take off door panels, how to run a power cable, etc. (I don't know who owns that web-site, but I DO thank them!)
Good luck!

Some peeps have done that. I didn't, in the event I want to take it back to stock.
