black trim behind steering wheel removal..

Help!! I just bought some after-market fog lights and I'd like to put the switch for them in that space next to the interior light dim dial. Also located on that trim piece is the button to turn on the cruise control, and the security light. I found instructions for putting in idiglo guages, but they just said to unscrew the trim and pull it out. Now, I've taken the screws out and gotten then top out, but the bottom will not budge. Help me not break my car for some 20 dollar fog lights please!!

It is being held by two clips, just apply a little force while pulling it towards yourself, it will come off

if u want to create more work u can pull the enitre bezel out by unscrewing the top two screws on the top of the bezel. then pull from the bottom and then pull the top out and then u have to pull the lower bar up over the steering coulumn and then dissconnect the wres and it pulls out. this way you can test fit.. good luck

heh yeah, i really dont want to break this, maybe i'll run the car for a little bit to get the inside warm, make the plastic a little less brittle, its about 45 degrees outside

well, i tried, only to fail. i think pulling harder will only decrease the time in which the piece breaks in half. maybe i'm just being a wuss

Are you talking about the one that could either be black or it could be wood? Because if it is that one, I have one but it is in wood but you could always repaint it into any color yuo want, just like i did.
Check mine out. I repainted mine into a different color. Check page 3 for interior shots of the car because I still do not know how to post pics by themselves. email me if you still want it at vsamoylov@yahoo.com. I sell it to you for $35 because Nissan charges $80 for black and $100 for wood.

so i have gotten the two bottom, side clips disconnected and i think there may be one or two more above the steering column. tomorrow i'm gonna try taking the steering column cover off to see if i can get a little more leverage for pulling this out.

also, does anybody know a good place to run two wires through the firewall, without having to drill a hole? i'm such a its not even funny, but at least i'm trying to do stuff myself.

thanks to all who replied. i have come to the conclusion that, A. i am an idiot. and B. if had done more searching before i made this thread, i'd have found the information i needed. but thanks for not giving me the "search you damm newbie" reply. i did get it in my status, but i suppose i deserve that. i'll try to get some pics up when i get these lights installed just so you can see what all the fuss was about. they're nothing major, but its a big step for me.
